Diontae Johnson expected to be team’s go-to receiver
Diontae Johnson is expected to be used all over the formation on offense for Carolina in 2024 and operate as the team’s go-to receiver.

Fantasy Impact

This comes as no surprise to fans and fantasy players alike. Johnson was the team’s big free-agency acquisition and was the Panthers presumptive WR1 from the get-go. He’ll look for a bounce-back year after struggling in Pittsburgh in 2023, though unless Bryce Young improves, that will be a tough ask. Still, he’s a nice price in drafts and is a great target as a WR3 for fantasy teams.

Chris Godwin standing out early in camp
Chris Godwin has been standing out early on in camp and earning high praise from his teammate, Mike Evans.

Fantasy Impact

Godwin hasn’t repeated his magical 2019 season, which Evans referenced when talking about Godwin to the press. That’s not to say he’s been bad since then, he’s had three consecutive seasons of at least 127 targets, 83 catches, and 1023 receiving yards. His downfall has come from a lack of touchdowns. He’s had a combined 10 in three years, compared to Mike Evans‘s 13 scores just last year. It sounds like the coaching staff wants to get the ball to Godwin more this year in a variety of ways to maximize his skillset. He’s a great bargain in drafts right now given his upside.

Aidan O’Connell takes first QB reps in redzone drill Friday
Aidan O’Connell took the first snaps of the day at QB in an 11-on-11 redzone drill for the Raiders.

Fantasy Impact

O’Connell threw two touchdown passes to WR Jakobi Meyers. He remains in a battle throughout training camp with Gardner Minshew.
