Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.
NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (3/13)
Cade Cunningham (G – DET): 19.5 points (alt line)
Cade Cunningham, despite making the all-star team, remains one of the best kept secrets in the NBA. Perhaps he would have become more of a household name if there was a normal all-star game. Whatever the case, Cade should get some well deserved shine in the playoffs. Cade currently has the Detroit Pistons fighting for fourth place in the Eastern Conference, which is a mammoth turnaround for a team that was being discussed among the worst of all time just last season when they were threatening the worst losing streak in NBA history. Cade has been electric as a go-to scorer for the Pistons this season, averaging 25.7 points per game. Cade has scored 20 or more points in 25 of his last 28 games. Clap the More on Cade for Thursday night’s NBA action.
Pick: More
Giannis Antetokounmpo (F – MIL): 0.5 double doubles
The Greek Freak was a monster on the boards his last time out and should find a way to success tonight as well, due to facing off against the Los Angeles Lakers. Los Angeles lost any semblance of a threat in the middle when they pulled out of the Mark Williams trade. And without LeBron in the frontcourt due to injury, the Bucks should dominate the glass. Giannis has recorded a double double in 44 of his 52 games this season, which places him third in double double rate. Grab the More on Giannis for Thursday night basketball.
Pick: More
Paolo Banchero (F – ORL): 19.5 points (alt line)
Banchero has been excellent for the Magic since returning from injury in early February. Paolo is averaging 24.3 points per game on the season and has scored 20 or more points in 11 of his last 12 games. Banchero is not as consistent from the field as one would expect from a top option big man, but Paolo is often more finesse than power. Pop the More on Paolo for Thursday night at Sleeper Picks.
Pick: More
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
