Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.
NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (3/11)
Cade Cunningham (G – DET): 19.5 points (alt line)
The Detroit Pistons have been the most pleasant surprise of the NBA season, largely due to the development of Cade Cunningham into an all-star and, seemingly, an emerging superstar. The Pistons head into tonight’s contest sitting at sixth in the Eastern Conference with a 36-29 record and are closer to fourth place than they are to falling to seventh and having to deal with play-in implications. Cade is averaging a robust 25.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 9.3 assists per game. His line for today is listed at 27.5 due to him scoring 28 or more points in four straight, but Cade scored 21 or fewer points in the three previous contests. Cade has scored 20 or more points in 24 of his last 27 games. Clap the More on Cade for Tuesday night basketball.
Pick: More
Donovan Mitchell (G – CLE): 3.5 assists (alt line)
Donovan got back on track in the assist column against Milwaukee and has now recorded five or more assists in seven of his last eight games and in 14 of his last 17. He has topped the full line of 5.5 just twice in his last 10 contests, and with an alt line that is currently at 1.26, the value firmly lies there. There is no reason for the full line to be listed at 5.5, so don’t be surprised if it drops to 4.5 by game time. 4.5 would be a solid value if available, but with Brooklyn being the opponent, a potential blowout causing reduced minutes is on the table. Stick with the alt line for safety. Dap the More on Donovan for Tuesday night’s NBA action.
Pick: More
Giannis Antetokounmpo (F – MIL): 0.5 double doubles
Giannis has quieted down in the rebound department enough to get a solid multiplier on his double double line. Giannis has recorded a double double in just three of his last five games but has posted at least 10 and 10 in 43 of his 51 games overall, good for the third highest double double rate in the league (84.3 percent). Antetokounmpo is dealing with a calf injury but has been listed as probable since Monday. Giannis posted lines of 31-12-5 and 37-10-11 in his two games against the Indiana Pacers this year. Grab the More on Giannis for Tuesday night at Sleeper Picks.
Pick: More
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
