Top Remaining Dynasty Fantasy Football Rookies (NFL Draft Day 3)

Top Remaining Dynasty Fantasy Football Rookies (NFL Draft Day 3)

We are two days into the 2025 NFL Draft, and all of the big names are off the board (except Shedeur Sanders). However, there are plenty of fantasy success stories from players drafted outside of the top three rounds.

Fifth-rounder Puka Nacua is the absolute gold standard for late-round breakouts in recent years, but the list of fantasy-relevant names selected on Day 3 is longer than you might think: Bucky Irving, Stefon Diggs, Tyreek Hill, George Kittle and Brock Purdy, just to name a few.

Dynasty Draft Kit 2025

Predicting who those players will be is often difficult, as draft capital is so important for forecasting fantasy production. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try, especially those of us who are about to enter Dynasty Rookie draft season.

With that in mind, here are the top remaining fantasy prospects as we head into Day 3. In the right landing spot, these players still have a shot to contribute to your dynasty roster, even if it’s too late for them to have impressive draft capital.

NFL Draft Day 3: Top Remaining Dynasty Fantasy Football Prospects

Shedeur Sanders (QB – Colorado)

Shedeur Sanders’ shocking slide is undeniably the biggest story of this year’s NFL Draft. And honestly, any analyst who tells you why it happened at this point is only guessing. The two most popular narratives are that Sanders was simply never that good of a prospect or that he bombed the interview process.

The first theory seems unlikely, as the consensus is essentially never this far off. The second is more plausible, but we see players with much more serious character concerns go off the board all the time — perhaps the standard is just higher at the quarterback position?

Whatever the reason, it’s undeniable that Sanders is the top quarterback prospect remaining on the board. When (if?) he ever does get selected, it won’t necessarily be to a team that ever expects to start him. That’s a huge blow to his potential dynasty value, and I don’t recommend touching him in the first two rounds of your rookie drafts, even in Superflex.

Maybe Sanders’ issues were off the field, and this is the wake-up call he needs. Assuming he does end up on an NFL roster, I’m leaving the smallest of lights on for the Hall of Famer’s son’s chances to eventually make a fantasy impact.

Cam Skattebo (RB – Arizona State)

Of all the positions, running back is probably the one with the best history of fantasy success from Day 3 picks. That is only becoming more true as NFL teams devalue the position, pushing talented backs further down draft boards. One of those talented backs is Cam Skattebo out of Arizona State.

Skattebo probably slid this far due to underwhelming athleticism, but he is huge, tough and an impressive pass-catcher. Even if he isn’t drafted into an ideal situation, the former Sun Devil looks exactly like the kind of player who could vacuum up all of the touches in a backfield if a starter goes down with an injury.

At the very worst, that will make him an intriguing handcuff in most backfields in the league. At best, there’s still a very real chance he eventually carves out a starting role once he lands on an NFL team. Forty-yard dash times don’t matter once you show you can play, and we’ve seen success stories from some underwhelming athletes who fell to Day 3 in the past few years, notably Kyren Williams and Bucky Irving. Maybe Skattebo is next in line.

Bhayshul Tuten (RB – Virginia Tech)

Unlike Skattebo (and even a few other backs I’m not going to mention in this article), it’s not surprising at all that Bhayshul Tuten is still on the board. It was expected, as his consensus mock average draft position (ADP) has remained outside of the top 100 backs even after a post-combine rise. Although I just talked about how unathletic Day 3 backs have had success in recent years, what makes Tuten so exciting is that he is absurdly athletic.

Tuten ran the 40-yard dash in 4.32 seconds at the combine. Combined with weighing in at 206 pounds, that gave him a 118.3 speed score, one of the best numbers we have seen in years. He’s not just a sprinting specialist, either, as Tuten put up solid production numbers during his four years in college.

Tuten’s profile does have some red flags when it comes to pass-blocking and fumbling, which may be why he is still available. But Tuten has the explosiveness to potentially be fantasy-relevant even in a part-time role. He is someone to monitor as we head into Day 3.

Elic Ayomanor (WR – Stanford)

Surprisingly, Elic Ayomanor is still on the board with Day 2 over and 14 receivers selected. The big-bodied receiver out of Stanford was the 10th receiver in mock draft ADP and was predicted to be selected inside the top 75 picks.

I should note that, at wideout in particular, a slide for a player relative to consensus mock drafts is a bad sign, especially if there’s no clear reason for it. That every single NFL team has allowed Ayomanor to fall to Day 3 probably means the consensus was simply overrating him as a prospect.

With that said, sliding in the draft isn’t a death sentence, and there’s still plenty to like about Ayomanor’s profile. The 21-year-old is an early-declare player who only played two seasons in college due to injury but still put up solid numbers.

As a prototypical X receiver now destined for unimpressive draft capital, Ayomanor might not see many targets, especially at first. But there’s upside potential if he lands in the right situation on Saturday and continues to develop.

Xavier Restrepo (WR – Miami)

Xavier Restrepo still being available isn’t surprising at all. There are multiple receivers still on the board who had much higher mock draft ADPs. However, Restrepo is still worth highlighting for one key reason: He profiles as a better fantasy receiver than a real NFL receiver. That means even if his draft capital isn’t ideal, he might be able to come through for fantasy managers sooner rather than later.

The key to this take is that Restrepo is a slot-only receiver, having run 92% of his career routes from inside at Miami. His route-running ability is well-regarded, but NFL teams simply don’t value slot receivers particularly highly. For fantasy purposes, though, running routes from the slot is often beneficial, allowing players to soak up underneath targets and those sweet, sweet PPR points.

With that said, Restrepo’s outlook is landing-spot dependent — he’ll need to land on an 11-personnel-heavy team to avoid being stuck with a sub-par route share. Every Day 3 receiver will have usage questions, though. We might as well take a chance with the player whose fall we can at least explain away.

Gunnar Helm (TE – Texas)

Speaking of players with explainable falls, we have Gunnar Helm. A natural receiver at the tight end position, Helm had the potential to be a Day 2 pick early in the process. But then he bombed at the combine, posting a 4.84-second 40-yard dash. That is an especially terrible sign because tight end is the position where 40-yard dash times are most correlated to fantasy success.

However, all hope is not lost. Helm reportedly twisted his ankle at the combine, providing an excuse for that abysmal time. With a healthy ankle and a faster time, there’s a chance the Texas product wouldn’t even be eligible for this list. Day 3 tight ends are perhaps the least predictable dynasty options of all, but I like taking a shot on the 22-year-old with solid receiving chops and a viable excuse for falling this far.
