NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (5/23)

Aaron Nesmith (G/F – IND): 9.5 points (alt line)

Nesmith Game 1 hero at just 12.5 points seems like a trap. It’s not. Nesmith has been solid for the Pacers all season, but he’s streaky and is just as capable of scoring less than 10 points as he is of scoring 25+. He usually produces given extended minutes and should get just that in this series, as he has been tasked with slowing down Anthony Edwards. Nesmith has topped the 12.5 number just twice in his last four games, but has topped 10 in nine of his 11 postseason contests. Light up the More on Nesmith for Friday night basketball.

Pick: More

Jalen Brunson (G – NYK): 19.5 points (alt line)

Jalen Brunson and the Knicks should come out firing in this one, but after Game 1’s debacle, keeping their foot on the gas the entire game will be just as, if not more important than, setting the tone early. The Knicks’ bench was unbelievable in Game 1, opening up a lead with Brunson on the bench with foul trouble. Tonight, they will need an efficient Brunson to be their closer. Jalen went off for 43 points in Game 1 and has scored 22 or more points in 11 of his 13 postseason contests. Jab the More on Jalen for Friday night at Sleeper Picks.

Pick: More

Karl-Anthony Towns (F/C – NYK): 0.5 double doubles

Towns has been excellent for the Knicks this postseason, at least through the first three quarters of most games. He showed up in a big way throughout Game 1, but sloppy play on both ends allowed the underdog Pacers to steal the game. KAT has recorded a double double in eight of his last nine playoff games and thoroughly dominated the Pacers during the regular season, averaging 30.3 points and 12.0 rebounds per game. Tap the More on Towns for Friday night’s NBA action.

Pick: More

Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
