Tuesday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings

Corbin Burnes (ARI) vs. PIT

Corbin Burnes is having a rock-solid, albeit somewhat lucky, first year with the Diamondbacks. According to FanGraphs, Burnes has had the following stats in nine starts spanning 52.2 innings.

  • 2.73 ERA
  • 3.95 xERA
  • 3.74 xFIP
  • 4.03 SIERA
  • 1.18 WHIP
  • Three wins
  • Six quality starts
  • 10.6 BB%
  • 23.6 K%
  • 47.1 GB%
  • 11.6 SwStr%
  • 28.5 CSW%
  • 102 stuff+
  • 99 location+
  • 106 pitching+

Burnes should post another stellar start in a cushy matchup tonight. The Pirates are 29th in wRC+ (80) with a 22.0 K% versus righties and 29th in wRC+ (66) with a 24.3 K% on the road in 2025. Thus, the Diamondbacks are -250, and the game’s total is 9.0 runs.

Joe Ryan (MIN) at TB

Joe Ryan is having a fantastic season. In 10 appearances (nine starts), Ryan has a 2.68 ERA, 3.20 xERA, 3.46 xFIP, 2.77 SIERA, 0.81 WHIP, 3.7 BB% and 30.6 K% in 57 innings. Ryan has also amassed four wins and five quality starts, and his 12.5 SwStr%, 28.5 CSW%, 105 stuff+, 105 location+ and 106 pitching+ support his sparkling ERA and ERA estimators.

Ryan is also sharp on the road. In 97.1 innings on the road since last season, he has had a 3.05 ERA, 3.49 xFIP, 0.96 WHIP, 4.1 BB% and 27.5 K%. Ryan’s matchup is slightly challenging, but the Twins are -126, and the game’s total is a ho-hum 8.5 runs. Ryan has upside that’s tailor-made for GPPs.

Cade Horton (CHC) vs. COL

Cade Horton was a well-regarded prospect, and while he hasn’t hit the ground running in the Majors, he hasn’t embarrassed himself. In three appearances (two starts) spanning 14.1 innings, Horton has a 4.40 ERA, 3.39 xERA, 4.53 xFIP, 4.24 SIERA, 1.40 WHIP, 4.8 BB% and 15.9 K%. Horton doesn’t beat himself with free passes, and his low strikeout rate is an outlier relative to his work in the minors.

Tonight is a get-right matchup for Horton against the Rockies. Colorado is 30th in wRC+ (72) with a 26.5 K% versus righties and 30th in wRC+ (59) with a 28.6 K% on the road this season. They’re literally the worst offense against righties and on the road. As a result, the Cubs are -325, and the game’s total is 8.0 runs.

Suggested Lineup Stacks

The Cubs are expensive to stack, but gamers can also partially stack them on tonight’s slate to chase the upside of their matchup against German Marquez. In 10 starts this year, Marquez has a 7.66 ERA, 4.46 xERA, 5.15 xFIP, 5.23 SIERA and 1.68 WHIP. Finally, he’s coughed up a .356 wOBA to 122 lefties since last year and a .410 wOBA to 117 righties.

  • Home (T-Mobile Park)
  • Game Total/Moneyline: 8.0 Runs/SEA -144

The Mariners have a cushy matchup against a pitcher who cannot solve road venues. In 83.1 innings on the road since last season, Mitchell Parker has had a 6.37 ERA and 4.58 xFIP. As a bonus, Seattle is an affordable offense to stack around the best pitching options on tonight’s main slate.

Core Studs

  • Kyle Tucker has had a .387 OBP, .252 ISO and 152 wRC+ against righties since 2023.
  • In 54 games and 229 plate appearances this season, Pete Crow-Armstrong has swatted 14 homers with 41 runs, 48 RBIs, 14 stolen bases, a .310 OBP, .285 ISO and 140 wRC+.
  • Randy Arozarena has crushed 17 homers with a .355 OBP, .206 ISO and 134 wRC+ against lefties since 2023.

  • In 400 plate appearances against lefties since 2023, J.P. Crawford has drilled nine dongs with a .366 OBP, .129 ISO and 124 wRC+.
