Welcome to Sleeper Picks. Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Sleeper is quickly becoming one of the most popular season-long fantasy platforms, and they are expanding into other areas based on demand. Each week in this space, we’ll talk about some strategy for the new platform while providing our favorite NBA more/less picks.
NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (5/20)
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (G – OKC): 24.5 points (alt line)
While the NBA has yet to announce the winner of the 2024-25 MVP award, Shai has helped cement his legacy by leading his team to the Western Conference Finals. The WCF will feature two of the new faces of the league in what will be an entertaining series. SGA found his groove in the second round and figures to be near his peak for the Conference Finals. SGA has scored 25 or more points in nine of his last 10 playoff games and dropped 40, 24, 37, and 38 points on Minnesota in his four games against them in the regular season. Slap the More on SGA for Tuesday night basketball.
Pick: More
Anthony Edwards (G/F – MIN): 19.5 points (alt line)
Ant-Man vs SGA in the Conference Finals is the stuff NBA fans’ dreams are made of. Yes, the NBA pushed for Los Angeles and Golden State, but poor roster construction prevented them from advancing. Edwards has been rock solid in the postseason, dropping 20 or more points in nine of his 10 games played. Averaging 26.5 points per game, Ant-Man will, in all likelihood, score 22 or more points tonight. Light up the More on Edwards for Tuesday night’s NBA action.
Pick: More
Isaiah Hartenstein (C – OKC): 5.5 rebounds (alt line)
Hartenstein is going to need to play a key role in this series. He will be asked to defend the paint and will be tasked with preventing Julius Randle, Rudy Gobert, and Naz Reid from banging down low. Luckily, the Thunder have Chet Holmgren, who can defend the perimeter when the Timberwolves’ bigs camp out for threes. Hartenstein has been solid on the boards in the playoffs, averaging 8.7 rebounds per game and hauling in six or more rebounds in 10 of his 11 postseason contests. Hit the More on Hartenstein for Tuesday night at Sleeper Picks.
Pick: More
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
