Today’s MLB DFS & Player Props Picks
Friday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings
Joe Ryan is in pristine form. According to FanGraphs, Ryan has put up the following stats in his previous five starts spanning 31.1 innings:
- 2.30 ERA
- 2.96 xFIP
- 0.80 WHIP
- 1 win
- 4 quality starts
- 5.2% walk rate
- 29.3% strikeout rate
- 12.7% SwStr%
- 28.3% CSW%
- 106 stuff+
- 102 location+
- 104 pitching+
The veteran righty is also outstanding at home. In 117 innings at home since last season, Ryan has a 3.46 ERA, 3.31 xFIP, 0.93 WHIP, 4.8% walk rate and 29.9% strikeout rate.
Ryan has a tasty matchup at home and stellar betting info, especially considering he’s opposing Paul Skenes tonight. The Pirates are 28th in wRC+ (82) with a 22.6% strikeout rate versus righties and 30th in wRC+ (64) with a 25.4% strikeout rate on the road in 2025. Pittsburgh was also 29th in wRC+ (71) with a 24.1% strikeout rate in the previous 30 days. The Twins are -120 favorites tonight, and the game’s total is listed at a pitcher-friendly 6.5 runs.
Among tonight’s probable pitchers, Ranger Suarez’s 1.99 ERA is the fourth-lowest, his 2.57 xERA is the third-lowest, his 3.39 xFIP is the fourth-lowest, his 3.50 SIERA is the sixth-lowest, his 1.03 WHIP is tied for the seventh-lowest, his 24% strikeout rate is tied for the 10th-highest and his 51.4% ground ball rate is the third-highest in 2025. The lefty has outkicked his ERA estimators. Still, his surface and underlying stats are all excellent.
The Padres are a decent matchup for Suarez, tied for 17th in wRC+ (88) with a 19.3% strikeout rate versus lefties and tied for 15th in wRC+ (105) with a 17.1% strikeout rate at home this year. Suarez and the Phillies are -156 favorites, and the game’s total is 8.0 runs.
Chase Burns recorded only one out and allowed seven runs (five earned) in his second start in the Majors. In his other two turns, he’s allowed four earned runs on eight hits, four walks and 15 strikeouts in 9.2 innings. Burns hasn’t been a workhorse. Still, his strikeout rate has been eye-catching, and he has a cupcake of a matchup to feast on tonight.
The Rockies are 30th in wRC+ (75) with a 26.4% strikeout rate versus righties and 29th in wRC+ (69) with a 28.3% strikeout rate this season. Colorado was also 25th in wRC+ (91) with a 26.1% strikeout rate in the previous 30 days. Thus, the Reds are -205 favorites, albeit the game’s total is listed at a slightly alarming 9.5 runs at the hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park. Burns carries risk in DFS, but he’s an exciting SP2 in all game types at DraftKings.

Suggested Lineup Stacks
Luis Severino is a tire fire at home. In 61.1 innings at home this year, Severino has a 7.04 ERA, 4.49 xFIP and 1.60 WHIP. He’s allowed a .336 wOBA to 141 lefties and a .384 wOBA to 143 righties at home this year. This is an eruption spot for the Blue Jays.
Dustin May has struggled to navigate road venues. In 37.1 innings on the road this year, May has had a 6.27 ERA, 4.83 xFIP, 1.58 WHIP, 10.7% walk rate and 17.8% strikeout rate. He’s allowed a .336 wOBA to 104 left-handed batters and a .410 wOBA to 65 right-handed batters on the road this season. The Dodgers’ bullpen is also a favorable matchup for San Francisco’s lineup after May departs the game. Thus, stacking the Giants has a high ceiling despite the game’s pitcher-friendly total of 7.5 runs.
