Week 1 has finally arrived, so it’s finally time to build some NFL DFS cash lineups.
Remember, when playing cash games, you want to target players with a nice combination of floor and ceiling. If there is a “free square” on the board, that is: A significantly underpriced player thrust into a huge bump in usage, then you can play them without thinking about how popular they’ll be among the field.
With that in mind, read on to learn more about my favorite DFS cash game picks for Week 1. We’ll provide pricing from both FanDuel and DraftKings for these picks. I’ll keep it tight, with only one pick for each position.

Week 1 NFL DFS Cash Game Advice & Picks
The players below are the ones I’m looking at for NFL DFS cash game considerations this week.
Quarterback
Michael Penix Jr. is in a great spot at home against a vulnerable Buccaneers pass defense. This is a projected high-scoring affair, as highlighted by the 47.5-point game total. Penix is a pure pocket passer, so if he has a spike week here, there’s a great chance that his top pass-catcher will as well — more on that later.
Aside from the matchup, I like riding with Penix in cash games because he provides salary relief, allowing you to load up elsewhere. With Penix’s teammate as one of my favorite plays of the week, I had to make sure to include the second-year quarterback as well.
Running Back
Chase Brown comes at a terrific value, set for a projected positive game script against the Browns, as the Bengals are 5.5-point road favorites in this game. Expect Brown to maintain the workhorse role we saw down the stretch last season. With the Bengals likely playing with a lead here, it sets up nicely for a spike week.
Then we have to consider how Brown is undervalued here, especially on DraftKings. His pass-catching prowess makes him even more appealing there, which of course has a full PPR scoring system.
Wide Receiver
My favorite play on the slate. Drake London put up huge numbers with Penix under center last season, including 187 yards and two touchdowns against the Panthers in Week 18. With a gunslinger forcing the ball into tight windows, it works perfectly with London’s skillset, as he can make contested catches downfield.
I’m betting we’ll see London hit his ceiling in this one. You don’t want to miss out on a chance to have him in your lineup at such an appealing price point, especially on a full PPR scoring DFS platform like DraftKings. London is a target hog with a massive red-zone role.
Tight End
We’ll finish off our DFS cash game picks for Week 1 with a punt play at tight end. Ja’Tavion Sanders is a second-year tight end coming off a strong camp. We saw him show flashes last year, including 87 yards against the Saints.
With the Panthers trading Adam Thielen and Jalen Coker now injured, that opens up a lot of opportunity for Sanders to emerge as the No. 2 target, especially since Xavier Legette has been inconsistent as a pro so far.
There’s a chance the Panthers-Jaguars game turns into a shootout, which is reflected in the 46.5-point total. With that in mind, ride with the tight end in cash games, especially on DraftKings, where you get more salary relief.
