Dynasty Trade Advice: Players to Buy or Sell (Fantasy Football)

We’ve officially hit the midway point in the fantasy football regular season. This is the critical time to start making your moves, either by pushing the chips in now to compete or acquiring those ascending assets and building for the future.

In today’s edition of Dynasty Trade Advice, I’m covering two new buy-low and sell-high candidates based on a disconnect between their market value and my own dynasty fantasy football rankings. I’ve referenced KeepTradeCut, a community-sourced dynasty rankings site, to determine true market value. Don’t wait for the market to correct itself; let’s take advantage of these inefficiencies below and start accruing serious roster value.

Players to Buy

Trevor Lawrence (QB – JAX)

The dynasty community seems to be very much out on Trevor Lawrence. The once first-round startup pick has done nothing but fail to meet lofty expectations since his breakout year in 2022. I agree with this sentiment for the most part; Lawrence was supposed to be a generational talent, and he hasn’t shown us that elite upside in his 4.5 NFL seasons.

However, the dynasty market appears to have overcorrected at this point. On KeepTradeCut, Lawrence’s dynasty value has dropped to QB23 and the 76th overall Superflex prospect. This would be outside the first six rounds of a startup draft.

While we’ve confirmed Lawrence doesn’t have anywhere close to top-five upside at his position, QB23 feels way too bearish. Lawrence is the QB19 with 16.7 points per game (PP) this season (not stellar, but better than his dynasty ranking), and he’s only 26 years old.

Lawrence just signed a five-year, $275 million extension with the Jaguars in 2024, where they only have a reasonable out after 2028. Even if this 16-18 PPG range is all that Lawrence ever is, that’s still mid-QB2 numbers that we can expect for at least the next 3.5 years. He’s currently valued behind a late 2026 first-round rookie pick for Superflex formats. If you can acquire Lawrence for a late first or a couple of seconds, that’s a no-brainer.

Jayden Higgins (WR – HOU)

Jayden Higgins’ rookie season has left much to be desired, averaging a mere 5.4 PPR PPG. This Houston offensive line has been objectively bad, and in turn, the passing attack has been lackluster. On top of this, Xavier Hutchinson (another Iowa State product) has gotten significantly more work than the second-round rookie, adding to the frustration for Higgins owners.

This is where you can swoop in and buy the rookie for a massive discount. I’ll admit this is purely a projections-based bet, given Higgins hasn’t done much of anything through six games. But with Nico Collins likely out for Week 8 with a concussion, Higgins should be stepping into a full-time role with a true chance to break out and show the world what he’s capable of. He’s seen his snap share steadily increase over the past two contests, and Week 8 will continue that trend.

Higgins is currently valued in line with a late 2026 second-round pick on KeepTradeCut, and I imagine you could snag him for even less. The upside case is still the same as it always was; Higgins emerges as the No. 2 WR in an exciting C.J. Stroud-led offense, similar to the one we saw in 2023. Houston’s front office must address some holes to reach that point, but it’s possible.

Players to Sell

Michael Pittman Jr. (WR – IND)

Michael Pittman Jr. has bounced back in a big way in 2025, re-establishing himself as the No. 1 WR on an Indianapolis offense that has been off-the-charts efficient through their first seven games. With all this success, Pittman has seen his dynasty value climb back up to a range I’m comfortable selling.

While the Colts have been far better than we could have imagined, I expect we’ll see some regression in the second half of the season. They currently lead the NFL in offensive expected points added (EPA)/play and success rate by a healthy margin, and it’s unlikely they continue to produce at this ridiculous rate.

Additionally, Pittman has had some touchdown luck early in the year, finding the end zone five times for a touchdown rate of over 14%. Over time, we can reasonably expect this number to drop. His 22.2% target rate ranks 36th amongst receivers this year, and he’s already in his age-28 season.

Pittman is valued in line with a late 2028 first-round pick and ahead of an early 2026 second-round rookie pick. If you’re headed into a rebuild and looking to get points off your roster, you can probably sell Pittman for a contender’s 2026 first. I would take advantage of this recent spike in value and get out while you’re ahead.

Xavier Legette (WR – CAR)

Week 7 was a huge game for Xavier Legette, posting 11 targets, nine receptions, 92 yards and a touchdown in a win over the New York Jets. This 24.2 PPR point performance was Legette’s first game with 20+ points in his career, and opens up a potential sell window in dynasty.

Legette’s college profile was one that I wanted no part of coming into the NFL, breaking out in his fifth year for South Carolina, and failing to reach 200 receiving yards in any of his first four seasons. Though still early in his NFL career, Legette has shown us he’s no more than a boom/bust option, with far more busts than booms.

His poor 1.19 yards per route run (YPRR) as a rookie has dropped to a dismal 0.86 YPRR, and that’s including this blow-up game. I doubt a future second-round pick is on the table, but if you can get a random second (even in 2028), I would take that in a heartbeat. If not, you may be able to get a third- and fourth-round pick in return, or a rookie with some higher upside, like Jaydon Blue, Pat Bryant or Brashard Smith. Take advantage of this big game from Legette and sell before his value drops to zero.
