Fantasy Football Panic Meter (2025)

We’re now getting into Week 8 of the 2025 NFL season, so it’s time to start thinking about trades, especially regarding underperforming players.

On this page, we’re going to take a look at five players who were selected in the first seven rounds of drafts who are failing to meet expectations. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the Panic Meter after Week 7.

FantasyPros Waiver Wire Advice

Fantasy Football Panic Meter: Week 7

Rome Odunze (WR – CHI)

Rome Odunze got off to a hot start to the season, catching 20 of his 35 targets for 296 yards and five touchdowns in his first four games. But Odunze has been held to 32 yards or fewer in each of his last two matchups.

With that said, I’m not panicking on Odunze at all. He is a talented second-year wideout with a prospect pedigree. The two consecutive duds are just the high-variance nature of the wide receiver position. The Bears also had success running the ball with D’Andre Swift in those games, which contributed to the lackluster production.

Bet on Odunze to get back on track and provide top-20 value for the rest of the season.

Verdict: 2 out of 10 on the Panic Meter

Jauan Jenning (WR – SF)

Jauan Jennings is having a disappointing follow-up to his surprise breakout season, combining for only five catches for 38 yards in two games since returning from injury. We know that the veteran is playing through a myriad of injuries right now, which makes me think it’s unlikely he’ll get back to fantasy relevance any time soon.

The best bet is to just hold and hope Jennings can turn it around, but he can’t go anywhere near your fantasy football lineups for the time being. Perhaps we’ll have to wait until the Niners have their bye in Week 12 for Jennings to get his burst back.

Verdict: 7 out of 10 on the Panic Meter

Chuba Hubbard (RB – CAR)

Chuba Hubbard returned from injury after Rico Dowdle dominated the backfield with a historic performance in his two-game absence. The results were discouraging, as Hubbard rushed for 31 yards on 14 carries, adding two receptions for 24 yards. Meanwhile, Dowdle racked up 96 total yards on 18 touches.

The fact that Dowdle outplayed Hubbard after that dominant two-game stretch makes me worried about backfield usage. We could see Hubbard’s role scaled back a bit if this continues.

I still think Hubbard is a rock-solid running back, but it’s worth worrying about him considering how good Dowdle has been.

Verdict: 6 out of 10 on the Panic Meter

FantasyPros Start/Sit Assistant

Xavier Worthy (WR – KC)

Xavier Worthy has been limited to 42 yards or fewer in three consecutive games. Now, Rashee Rice is back in the lineup. We saw Rice catch seven of his 10 targets for 42 yards and two touchdowns in his season debut.

Rice is the top option in this offense. I came into the year thinking Worthy could take that role, but I was completely wrong. With that in mind, we need to consider Worthy as a boom-or-bust WR3, at best, similar to Jameson Williams in Detroit.

Verdict: 7 out of 10 on the Panic Meter

George Kittle (TE – SF)

George Kittle returned to action in Week 7, but he was catch-less in a game where the 49ers dominated on the ground with Christian McCaffrey.

It’s also worth noting that the Falcons are allowing the fewest yards to tight ends this season, so we can blame the poor performance on the tough matchup. There’s no reason to panic about Kittle, as he is still an elite tight end. Spike weeks will come sooner rather than later.

Verdict: 1 out of 10 on the Panic Meter
