Fantasy Football Risers & Fallers: Devy Leagues (Week 8)

Week 8 of the college football season delivered high-stakes matchups, shocking upsets and standout performances from players across the country. In this weekly breakdown, we examine the aftermath of the weekend’s action, spotlighting the biggest devy fantasy football risers and fallers in the college football landscape.

Created by Scott Fish in the 1990s, the devy format is rapidly gaining traction as one of the most exciting formats in fantasy football. Often described as a “dynasty league on steroids,” devy fantasy football allows managers to draft and stash college players well before they declare for the NFL Draft.

The devy format demands deeper research and sharper projections than a traditional dynasty league, but we’re here to help you navigate it every step of the way. Each week, we’ll highlight the most significant value shifts based on NCAA action and what it means moving forward.

When we talk about risers, we’re referring to players whose value has climbed due to strong on-field performance. For fallers, the picture is more complex. Injuries, reduced playing time and other situational factors can all contribute to a drop in perceived value.

Devy Fantasy Football Risers & Fallers

Devy Risers

Jadarian Price (RB – Notre Dame)

Despite playing second fiddle to Jeremiyah Love throughout his Notre Dame career, Jadarian Price has emerged as one of the most talented playmakers in college football. In Week 8 against USC, he rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on just 13 carries, then ignited the stadium with a 100-yard kick return that flipped momentum in the Fighting Irish’s favor. His blend of burst, vision and versatility continues to shine in limited opportunities.

For devy scouts, Price’s outing against USC underscores his appeal in modern fantasy formats. Though he’s not the lead back in South Bend, his efficiency and ability to contribute in multiple phases suggest a ceiling far higher than his current role implies. If given a full workload at the next level, Price has the traits to thrive in a three-down role or carve out immediate value in a committee.

Kaytron Allen (RB Penn State)

Kaytron Allen continues to outshine Nicholas Singleton in Penn State’s backfield, rushing 28 times for 145 yards and two touchdowns against Iowa. While Singleton has struggled this season, averaging just 3.6 yards per carry, Allen (6.2 yards per attempt) is emerging as the focal point of the Nittany Lions’ ground game.

From a devy perspective, Allen’s stock is quietly climbing. Though Singleton entered the season with more buzz, Allen’s steady production and pro-ready traits are shifting the narrative. If the trend holds, he could leapfrog his teammate on 2026 draft boards and emerge as a dynasty sleeper.

Devy Fallers

Carson Beck (QB – Miami)

Carson Beck’s four-interception meltdown against Louisville delivered a brutal blow to his devy value. Entering the game as a legitimate Heisman Trophy contender and a rising fantasy asset, Beck failed to throw a touchdown and looked rattled throughout Miami’s upset loss on Friday night.

For devy managers, Beck’s performance raises serious concerns about his long-term projection. Once viewed as a near-lock for early-round NFL Draft capital, he now faces renewed scrutiny over his arm talent, decision-making and ability to handle pressure. While one game doesn’t erase his early-season success, the Louisville loss narrows his margin for error in a deep quarterback class and forces a reevaluation of his dynasty trajectory.

LaNorris Sellers (QB – South Carolina)

South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers entered the season with sky-high expectations, but midway through the 2025 campaign, the sophomore has yet to deliver on his promise. Hampered by a depleted offensive line and a sputtering scheme under first-year coordinator Mike Shula, Sellers has leaned on short, low-risk throws as the Gamecocks have dropped four of their last five.

Sellers’ draft stock, once bolstered by elite physical tools and flashes of dominance last season, is trending downward. While scouts remain intrigued by Sellers’ arm talent and athleticism, questions persist about his ability to operate outside of structure and push the ball vertically with consistency.

As more productive quarterbacks like Fernando Mendoza, Dante Moore and Ty Simpson fly up draft boards, Sellers risks falling behind his peers. Without a late-season surge, he may enter the offseason facing a pivotal decision: Declare for the 2026 NFL Draft or transfer to a program better suited to showcase his dual-threat upside.
