Fantasy Football Start/Sit: Mason Taylor, Pat Freiermuth, Stefon Diggs

Fantasy Football Start/Sit: Mason Taylor, Pat Freiermuth, Stefon Diggs

Sometimes fantasy football feels like a weekly science experiment gone wrong. One minute you’re mixing the perfect lineup formula, the next you’re covered in the radioactive fallout of a three-point dud. Week 10 is no different, with injuries, bye weeks, and unexpected breakout candidates all bubbling over. Fortunately, our Featured Pros have donned their lab coats (and helmets) to identify which players deserve a start in your lineup and which ones might just blow up your matchup for all the wrong reasons.

Fantasy Football Week 10 Start/Sit Advice

Sleepers

Which player outside of the top 100 in the FantasyPros Flex rankings is a good sleeper start, and why do you think he has upside this week?

Mason Taylor (TE – NYJ)

“As the 102nd-ranked Flex player on the board, I’ll take Mason Taylor pretty easily here. Potentially the only game in town as a pass-catcher again this week and against a defense in the Cleveland Browns that won’t allow much at all on the ground, Taylor offers up a volume play with the potential to score. Few of the names around him can claim the same. If he gives you what he gave you with Garrett Wilson out before their bye last week, you’ll once again be very happy with his output. Mason has disappeared in about half of his games this season, and he’s only scored once. But the post-bye rookie bump is real. Even if Wilson plays, I’ll Flex Mason with the confidence of a high floor this week.”

Pat Freiermuth (TE – PIT)

“For any fantasy managers that are looking at the tight end market for answers, Pat Freiermuth could provide some this week. Freiermuth goes up against the Chargers this week, who have conceded four touchdowns to the position this season. He has been on a bit of a roll the last few weeks, with three scores in his last three contests. His overall upside remains capped due to the presence of Jonnu Smith, but if Freiermuth can find the end zone this week, he would log a top-12 finish at the position.”

Duds

Which player inside the top 40 in the FantasyPros Flex rankings is likely to disappoint fantasy managers this week?

Stefon Diggs (WR – NE)

“Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs is primed for a massive letdown game in Week 10. Tampa Bay’s bye-week-fresh defense has surrendered the fewest passing touchdowns (one) over the last three games and ranks in the top 10 in yards per attempt allowed. Quarterback Drake Maye loves to spread the ball around, with no Patriots receiver topping a 21% target share in any game this season, with Diggs sitting at just over 20% since Week 6. With Hunter Henry, Kayshon Boutte, DeMario Douglas and Kyle Williams all siphoning targets, Diggs faces a capped ceiling in a run-first game script. Fade the name value as he is likely to struggle to crack WR4 territory. Bench him if you can.”
