Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Targets
All players listed below are rostered in 30% or fewer of Yahoo! leagues.
WR Handcuffs, Targets & Stashes
Luther Burden III (WR – CHI) | 16% Rostered
Luther Burden III missed Week 16, but he should be ready to go for a potential shootout against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 17. I doubt Rome Odunze plays, so Burden will be peppered with targets.
Adonai Mitchell (WR – NYJ) | 19% Rostered
Adonai Mitchell only caught three passes in Week 16, but he had 43 receiving yards and saw six targets. It won’t be pretty, but Mitchell will get targets with Brady Cook as his quarterback. The Jets take on the New England Patriots next, and I expect them to trail early and often, which bodes well for Mitchell’s downfield ability.
Chimere Dike (WR – TEN) | 15% Rostered
Chimere Dike caught three passes for 40 yards and a touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs, his third receiving touchdown over his last five games. The Titans’ passing attack is a bit difficult to figure out every week, but Dike is getting some looks. The matchup isn’t great against the Saints, but he appears to have more touchdown upside than fellow rookie receiver Elic Ayomanor.
Jalen Coker (WR – CAR) | 15% Rostered
Jalen Coker has been a consistent option in the Panthers’ passing attack. He’s put up double-digit PPR points in two of his last three games. While his production was relatively modest (three catches for 47 yards), he could be in line for another double-digit performance against the Seattle Seahawks. They’re a tough defense, but I expect the Panthers to find themselves trailing, benefiting Coker.
Isaac TeSlaa (WR – DET) | 6% Rostered
With the Lions’ playoff hopes dwindling, they could turn more to young wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa. He caught four passes for 52 yards and a touchdown on seven targets last week and has had double-digit PPR points in three of his previous four games.
Parker Washington (WR – JAX) | 24% Rostered
Parker Washington had a phenomenal game against the Denver Broncos, catching six of his 10 targets for 145 yards and a touchdown. He went for 53 yards in Week 15, too. Washington is receiving far more looks than Brian Thomas Jr. and is definitely worth picking up against the squishy Indianapolis Colts defense in Week 17.
TE Handcuffs, Targets & Stashes
Chig Okonkwo (TE – TEN) | 16% Rostered
Same deal here as Chimere Dike — the Titans’ passing attack is difficult to solve, but Chig Okonkwo had six catches for 44 yards on eight targets and a touchdown. He’s seen five targets or more in three of his last four games.
Taysom Hill (TE – NO) | 1% Rostered
With running back Devin Neal out for the season, it wasn’t Audric Estime or Evan Hull that stepped up as the No. 1 RB, but rather Taysom Hill. He had 38 passing yards and one passing touchdown, 12 carries for 42 yards and caught four passes for 36 yards.
At this point in the season, and with the Titans on deck, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Hill more involved in the final week. That said, this is an extremely boom-or-bust pick as Hill could be a complete ghost. If you’re a Tyler Warren owner in the fantasy championship, for example, Hill could be a worthwhile dice roll.
Darnell Washington (TE – PIT) | 1% Rostered
With wide receiver DK Metcalf suspended for the remainder of the regular season, Washington could benefit from the Steelers’ passing game. When Metcalf isn’t on the field, Washington is tied for a team-high 26.5% target share, catching six out of nine targets for 74 yards.
