We’re already through Thanksgiving and into Week 9 of the fantasy hockey season. Whether you’re looking to fortify an already-strong roster, or you’re in need of a few players to help propel you up the standings, you’ve come to the right place. Below, I’ve listed four undervalued skaters who are worth adding to any fantasy hockey team. Here are my top fantasy hockey waiver wire pickups heading into Week 9.

Elias Lindholm (F – BOS) | 56.5% rostered
Admittedly, I have been wrong about the league’s top goalscorer, Morgan Geekie (20 goals). In my defense, the 27-year-old has bounced around throughout his career and hasn’t proven to be a reliable offensive threat.
I’m now a Geekie believer, and I think it’s time to add the guy who’s feeding him the puck on a nightly basis: Elias Lindholm. In 17 games, the top-line centerman has 13 points (4 goals, 9 assists), eight of which have come via the power play (4 PPG, 4 PPA). With Lindholm logging 17+ minutes of TOI/G and being one of the key offensive assets for the B’s, I’d say he’s roster-worthy at this point of the season.
Jamie Benn (F – DAL) | 13.1% rostered
Another guy who missed some time but has come on strong is Jamie Benn. The Dallas captain has only played seven games in 2025-26, but already has three goals and three helpers. Will the point-per-game production continue all season? Your guess is as good as mine.
However, Benn is an adaptable veteran who can slot in anywhere on this lethal offense, which ranks third in goals/60 minutes (3.44) and first on the power play (32.58%). If you’re in a deeper league, I’d say Benn’s worth an add considering his red-hot form.
Ryan Greene (F – CHI) | 0.2% rostered
If you’re in a deep, deep league, then you may want to buy some stock in Chicago’s Ryan Greene. The 22-year-old second-round pick out of Boston University (2022) has been catching fire recently. He only has eight points (4 goals, 4 assists) this season, but five of them (3 goals, 2 assists) have come in the last eight games.
Likely, this increase in production is due to getting bumped up to the top line and playing alongside Connor Bedard. Greene is also logging 2.5 SOG/G across his last six outings, while also getting time on the second power-play unit. He’s worth a roster spot as long as he continues taking advantage of his first-line opportunities.
Radko Gudas (D – ANA) | 20.8% rostered
Hockey isn’t all about lighting the lamp. Someone has to block shots and lay the lumber, and that’s where guys like Radko Gudas make their money. Through 14 games this year, Gudas ranks 30th in shots blocked per game (2). Despite missing time, the Anaheim defenseman is 73rd in hits (49). Gudas only has three points (1 goal, 2 assists), but his fantasy value lies elsewhere. The 35-year-old d-man is worth a roster spot if your league rewards these secondary metrics.
