2026 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Kenyon Sadiq
Kenyon Sadiq (TE – Oregon)
6-foot-3 | 245 Pounds
Background
Kenyon Sadiq was a four-star recruit who played sparingly in 2023 (5-24-1), then worked as the team’s second tight end in 2024 behind eventual second-round pick Terrance Ferguson (Rams), finishing with a 24-308-2 (12.8) line. Took over as the team’s lead tight end this past season, catching 51-560-8 (11.0).
Positives
Two-year contributor who became a major member of his team’s offense in his first season as a starter. Versatile flex tight end who lines up all over the formation, but is primarily an H-back aligned tight to the line of scrimmage. Very good blocker for his size, with impressive functional strength. Blocks with a stable base, showing solid knee bend. Takes his run-game responsibilities seriously, playing with physicality and urgency.
Sadiq shows good pop in his hands on contact. Gets his feet churning after contact and fights through the whistle to sustain. Able to attack a defender’s outside shoulder and seal them away from the play direction on tosses and sweeps. Does a nice job of coming in pre-snap motion and cracking backside defenders. Leads the way on screens very well. Usage as a receiver is relatively versatile, often lining up in the slot on passing downs. Runs traditional safety-valve concepts like hooks and releases into the flat, but also runs some more traditional receiver-style routes.
Can weave through traffic and slip past jams to get clean releases. Contact balance allows him to stay on track through his routes and shows some snappiness at the stem. Fast enough to run away from some defenders on slants and overs. Settles into soft spots against zone coverage. Smooth mover and tracker down the seams. Able to adjust to throws away from his frame. Has caught over half of his career targets in traffic. Smooth runner after the catch with the power to gain yards after contact.
Negatives
The Oregon prospect took relatively few snaps as a true in-line tight end and is a bit smaller than a typical “Y” tight end. Range and form as a blocker once engaged are both impressive, but he has the occasional snap where he struggles to line up opponents when working on the move.
Wasn’t penalty-prone in school, but Sadiq can occasionally catch opponents, so hand placement could be a bit more consistent inside. Dropped six passes this past year, so the reliability of his hands has left a little to be desired so far.
Summary
Considered by far the best tight end prospect in the draft, Sadiq may lack ideal size for a tight end, but offers impressive power and intensity as a blocker and is a smooth mover with solid route-running skills on passing downs.
With few weaknesses to his game besides the occasional drop, Sadiq looks like a safe bet to develop into an every-down contributor at the next level. Looks like momentum is building toward his name being called in the first round.
Projection: Round 1
