NBA DFS Picks & Lineup Advice: Tuesday (2/10)

It’s Tuesday, February 10th. The National Basketball Association (NBA) has a surprisingly light schedule on Tuesday, with just four games to choose from at both DraftKings and FanDuel. We have an NBA TV doubleheader between the Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets at 8:00 p.m. ET, and the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Lakers tangle at 10:30 p.m. ET. Below are our top NBA DFS picks for today.

NBA DraftKings & FanDuel DFS Primer

NBA DFS Core Plays

Alperen Sengun (PF, C – HOU)

  • DraftKings: $9,500
  • FanDuel: $10,100

Alperen Sengun has blown up for 46.5 fantasy points per game this season, which is the third-best mark on the board among active players. However, he has a far better matchup than Kawhi Leonard (47.1 fantasy points per game vs. opponent rank of fourth) or Victor Wembanyama (49.4 fantasy points per game vs. opponent rank of first).

Sengun’s matchup is just so-so, with the Clippers checking in 14th in opponent rank, but that’s markedly better than the aforementioned two players above. He has some versatility, too, as you can use him at power forward or center. He is coming off a titanic performance against Oklahoma City last time out on Saturday, going for 17 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists, three blocks and three steals in 37 minutes.

Amen Thompson (PG – HOU)

  • DraftKings: $8,500
  • FanDuel: $8,700

Amen Thompson might be the answer to your prayers at the point guard spot, especially on a short slate. If you’re building a Rockets stack, Thompson needs to be part of the foundation. He is posting 38.9 fantasy points per game, and facing a matchup with the Clippers checking in 24th in opponent rank against opposing guards.

Thompson is coming off a bit of a stinker against the Charlotte Hornets last time out on Thursday, and it was perhaps because he wasn’t feeling well. He sat out Saturday’s game at Oklahoma City due to illness, although he is cleared for Tuesday’s game.

Thompson finished January with 13+ points in eight of his final 10 games, while going for at least six boards in each of the 10 outings. He also has four or more assists in 12 straight contests.

Jalen Brunson (PG – NYK)

  • DraftKings: $8,800
  • FanDuel: $8,900

Jalen Brunson should be part of a Knicks stack. With just four games to choose from, you’ll likely have several players from New York and Houston on your teams due to favorable matchups.

Brunson has managed 42.6 fantasy points per game, and he is facing an Indiana defense with an opponent rank of 28th. That’s just too hard to pass up. He has been a little erratic lately, in terms of scoring, going for 31, 12, 42, 21, 12, 26 and 13 in the past seven outings.

Talk about boom or bust. However, against Indiana’s porous defense, Brunson should be on the good side of things offensively.

NBA DFS Cash Game Targets

Devin Booker (PG, SG – PHX)

  • DraftKings: $8,100
  • FanDuel: $8,200

Devin Booker heads into this game against the Mavericks with a very favorable matchup. He is good for 41.4 fantasy points per game, so his DFS salary is a bit on the low side. Add in the fact the Mavericks are 27th in opponent rank, and expectations are sky high for Book.

Booker went for 21 points and nine assists last time out against the visiting Philadelphia 76ers, a good night despite a 5-of-12 shooting performance, including 1-of-7 from behind the arc. Still, Booker is good for 21+ points in each of the past six games, and he has at least one three-pointer in 16 straight outings. When you pick Booker, you know what you’re going to get — consistency.

Karl-Anthony Towns (C – NYK)

  • DraftKings: $8,300
  • FanDuel: $8,500

If you don’t feel like paying up for Aleren Sengun, or you use the latter at power forward and want to go big up front, Karl-Anthony Towns is your man. He is good for 42.4 fantasy points per game and is facing the visiting Pacers, and their opponent rank of 24.

Towns is working on a streak of five consecutive double-doubles, and he is averaging 16.3 points, 12.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists in four February games. He has 1.3 steals per game (SPG), too, while posting zero blocks, which is notable, but also forgivable. Towns has posted 15 or more rebounds in five of his past 12 games, and the Pacers are not good on the glass. Towns should shine.

De’Aaron Fox (PG – SAS)

  • DraftKings: $7,200
  • FanDuel: $7,400

De’Aaron Fox is a good play if you want to diversify your lineup outside of mostly Knicks and Rockets. Fox has averaged 36.7 fantasy points per game this season, and the Lakers rank 25th in opponent rank against guards, so the potential is there for a good game on the road for Fox.

I just realized that this section is entirely comprised of former Kentucky players, and that was not by design, but let’s roll with it. Fox is averaging 15.3 points, eight assists, three rebounds, one steal with one three-pointer per game in four February matchups.

Fox was good for 14 points against the Lakers on January 7th in their most recent matchup, and he looks to atone for an 0-for-6 shooting night from behind the arc. He was much better in the NBA Cup quarter-finals against the Lakers, dropping 20 points with four triples.

NBA DFS GPP Targets

Collin Gillespie (PG – PHX)

  • DraftKings: $6,800
  • FanDuel: $6,000

Collin Gillespie is another name who might not be on the tip of the tongue of casual fans, but die-hard NBA fans and daily fantasy players know him quite well. He enters this game averaging 29.8 fantasy points per game, and he faces a Dallas team with an opponent rank of 22.

Gillespie has had a couple of disappointing shooting nights in the past two outings, both at home, averaging just 8.5 points. He is also averaging 3.5 rebounds, three assists, 1.5 steals and 2.5 three-pointers per game during that span, while shooting just 26.1% (6-of-23) from the field.

The matchup with the Mavericks should snap Gillespie back on track. He is just a couple of games removed from an outing with 30 points, 10 assists, eight three-pointers and three steals in a win at Portland on February 3rd.

Jordan Goodwin (SF, SG – PHX)

  • DraftKings: $5,100
  • FanDuel: $4,500

Jordan Goodwin has the chance to be a tremendous value play on Tuesday night. Grayson Allen (knee) will continue to sit, and he won’t be re-evaluated until after the All-Star break. Goodwin and Royce O’Neale could see some extra run, making both players valuable when the matchup is favorable, such as Tuesday.

While he has hit just 4-of-13 (30.8%) from the field in the past two games, going for just 13 total points, Goodwin is doing a good job overall in February. He is averaging 10.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.3 three-pointers per game in four outings in February. If he just hits those averages, he will exceed his DFS expectations tonight.

Devin Vassell (SF – SAS)

  • DraftKings: $5,700
  • FanDuel: $5,100

Devin Vassell has rolled up 26.1 fantasy points per game this season, and he is facing a Lakers defense with an opponent rank of 27th. There is a little bit of upside here, and pairing him with Fox gives you a nice little San Antonio mini-stack for this nationally-televised showing.

Vassell was sharp in a home-and-home with the Mavericks on Thursday and Saturday, averaging 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists, while shooting a combined 12-of-27 (44.4%) from the field.

NBA DFS Value Plays

Daniel Gafford (C – DAL)

  • DraftKings: $4,900
  • FanDuel: $5,700

Daniel Gafford is a little expensive on FanDuel, but he is a tremendous value on DraftKings. He heads into his one, averaging 21.8 fantasy points per game this season, and the Suns are 20th in opponent rank.

Gafford has averaged 11.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, two blocks and 1.7 assists per game in three February outings.

Jalen Green (SG, PG – PHX)

  • DraftKings: $6,500
  • FanDuel: $4,400

The price disparity between DFS sites is crazy. Daniel Gafford has averaged just 8.7 points per game in four contests since returning from a 10-week absence due to injury.

Gafford’s minutes have been in the 16-20 minute neighborhood since his return, so the mid-tier price point might be a bit much, but the low-cost option makes him a value play on FanDuel.

Ariel Hukporti (C – NYK)

  • DraftKings: $3,000
  • FanDuel: $3,600

We’re going deep into the bag for this one, and Ariel Hukporti is a much cheaper option than Daniel Gafford in the middle. Ariel Hukporti might see some extra run with Mitchell Robinson sitting out the front end of a back-to-back set due to his left ankle injury.

Hukporti saw 23 minutes off the bench against the Denver Nuggets on February 4th, scoring 10 points and grabbing eight rebounds.
