The Denver Broncos are re-signing RB J.K. Dobbins, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.

Dobbins was off to a strong start for Denver in 2025 before sustaining a season-ending Lisfranc (foot) injury in Week 10. He had 153 carries for 772 yards (5.0 YPC) and four touchdowns. Through the first 10 weeks of the season, Dobbins was RB22 in half-point PPR fantasy points per game.

If Dobbins can stay healthy, he has a good chance to be Broncos head coach Sean Payton’s primary early-down back in 2026. But R.J. Harvey will have a substantial role, too. Harvey played a complementary role early in his rookie season, then became the Broncos’ lead back after Dobbins got hurt.

Dobbins was the far more effective runner last season. But Dobbins offers little as a pass catcher. He had only 11 receptions for 37 yards last season, and he’s never had more than 153 receiving yards in a season since entering the league in 2020. Harvey had 47 catches as a rookie and seems likely to be Denver’s primary passing-down back.

Durability has been a major problem for Dobbins throughout his career. In addition to last year’s foot injury, Dobbins tore his ACL in 2021 and tore his Achilles in 2023.

If not for his worrisome injury history, Dobbins might be a low-end RB2 or high-end RB3 in fantasy drafts. But in light of the injury risk and his limited pass-catching upside, I’m ranking Dobbins RB38 in half-point PPR and RB41 in full-point PPR. Harvey is my RB34 in half-point PPR and RB32 in full-point PPR.

In dynasty, age and the risk of injury make the 27-year-old Dobbins a fragile asset. He’s RB54 in my dynasty rankings.
