View More NotesJ.K. Dobbins should be Denver's early down hammer again this year. Last year, in Weeks 1-10, he was the RB24 in fantasy points per game, averaging 16.4 touches and 80.6 total yards. The bulk of that work was in the rushing department, as he averaged only 1.4 targets and 3.7 receiving yards per game. He had only four games in which he saw more than one target, and he never saw more than two targets in any game. Dobbins was on pace for 260 carries and 1,313 rushing yards before his injury, so his value on early downs is quite nice. Among 49 qualifying backs, he ranked third in explosive run rate and eighth in missed tackle rate. Dobbins should have a productive Week 1 against a run defense that last year allowed the eighth-highest zone rushing success rate (Dobbins 54.9% zone in 2025), had the tenth-lowest rate of hits at or behind the line of scrimmage, and ranked 17th in yards before contact per attempt.

Dobbins was very successful in 2025 when he was healthy, averaging 5.0 yards per carry and rushing for 772 yards in 10 games. RJ Harvey and rookie Jonah Coleman will have roles, a regular trait for head coach Sean Payton's offenses. Due to injury risk and a congested backfield, Dobbins has a deflated ADP price as the half-PPR RB34, according to FantasyPros.
