Welcome to our weekly fantasy baseball risers and fallers column. In this article, I’ll identify three risers and three fallers based on what transpired over the previous week.
Given that we’re a few months into the season, there are more options to choose from. We now know how managers are deploying their players, with some surprisingly receiving less playing time than initially expected. We also have a few young hitters who are making their presence felt immediately.
Without further ado, let’s find out who this week’s biggest risers and fallers are.

Fantasy Baseball Risers & Fallers
Fantasy Baseball Risers
Byron Buxton (OF – MIN)
Byron Buxton slashed .264/.327/.551 with 35 home runs and 24 stolen bases in 542 plate appearances last season. He was finally able to stay healthy for a full year. This year, it’s been more of the same, as he’s slashing .275/.336/.601 with 23 home runs and seven stolen bases in 283 plate appearances.
In the last 14 days, Buxton is slashing .405/.463/.973 with six home runs in 41 plate appearances. He’s showing no signs of slowing down and needs to be viewed as an elite fantasy outfielder moving forward.
Dominic Canzone (OF, DH – SEA)
Dominic Canzone is having a breakout season, slashing .293/.365/.575 with 11 home runs in 189 plate appearances. He’s barreling the ball at a high rate (15.8% barrel rate) while keeping his strikeout rate in check (19%).
In the last 14 days, he’s slashing .389/.463/.833 with four home runs in 41 plate appearances. Enjoy the ride because you have a valuable backend outfielder for your lineup.
Bryce Eldridge (1B, DH – SFG)
Bryce Eldridge is a touted prospect who is starting to find his groove at the plate, slashing .404/.491/.702 with four home runs in 55 plate appearances.
For the season, Eldridge now has a 168 wRC+ with a 19.8% strikeout rate. For a hitter who had strikeout concerns, this is extremely impressive. We may be witnessing a breakout season.
Fantasy Baseball Fallers
Andy Pages (OF – LAD)
Andy Pages is currently slashing .272/.318/.491 with 15 home runs and seven stolen bases in 314 plate appearances. It’s been a breakout season, but he’s starting to slow down.
In the last 14 days, Pages is slashing .189/.228/.321 with two home runs. This was always going to happen, since Pages was performing way above expectations. While still a valuable hitter, he’s not the elite bat we saw earlier in the year.
Xavier Edwards (2B, SS – MIA)
Xavier Edwards got off to a red-hot start, but he’s been ice-cold at the plate lately. In the last 14 days, he’s slashing .175/.265/.175 with zero home runs in 49 plate appearances.
What looked like a breakout season now looks more in line with career norms.
Riley Greene (OF – DET)
Riley Greene has gotten cold at the plate, slashing .200/.277/.350 with two home runs in 47 plate appearances in the last 14 days. With a .408 batting average on balls in play (BABIP), we were always going to see negative regression in Greene’s batting average.
With that said, with only eight home runs so far, it’s likely we’ll eventually see a power surge, since Greene is still hitting the ball hard. For now, he’s slumping, so temper expectations in the short term.
