Closer News & Notes

  • Cade Smith continues to lead all of baseball with 22 saves. He remains the lone closer with at least 20 saves.
  • Aroldis Chapman has been dealing with a minor hamstring injury, which has limited him to just two appearances over the past few weeks. He remains a player to monitor at the trade deadline.
  • The Tigers activated Kenley Jansen from the injured list (IL). He could return to his closer role, but it will be a situation to monitor.
