Wednesday’s Top MLB DFS Picks & Player Props

Wednesday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings (6/10)

Jesus Luzardo (SP – PHI) at Toronto Blue Jays

Jesus Luzardo is underpriced at DraftKings relative to his underlying pitching numbers, and he’s a screaming value at FanDuel. The lefty’s 4.56 ERA in 13 starts doesn’t inspire much confidence. However, according to FanGraphs, Luzardo has a 3.48 xERA, 3.15 xFIP, 3.35 SIERA, and 1.33 WHIP. Luzardo also has a DFS-friendly 25.6 K%.

The lefty has a plus matchup and betting info tonight. The Blue Jays are 27th in wRC+ (84) with a 20.1 K% versus lefties and 14th in wRC+ (102) with a 19.9 K% at home in 2026. So, the Phillies are -140 favorites, and the game’s total is 8.5 runs.

MacKenzie Gore (SP – TEX) at Kansas City Royals

MacKenzie Gore is largely a matchup and salary-driven suggestion. The Royals are 26th in wRC+ (86) with a 20.5 K% versus lefties and 22nd in wRC+ (97) with a 20.8 K% at home this year.

The lefty enters his favorable matchup in good form. In Gore’s previous five starts, totaling 26 innings, he’s amassed the following stats:

    • 2 wins
    • 3 quality starts
    • 2.77 ERA
    • 3.91 xERA
    • 4.24 xFIP
    • 4.30 SIERA
    • 1.12 WHIP
    • 8.4 BB%
    • 20.6 K%
    • 10.7 SwStr%
    • 26.6 CSW%
    • 98 stuff+
    • 100 location+
    • 99 pitching+

Gore offers enticing bang for DFS gamers’ buck at both DFS providers, as a stellar SP2 option in all game types at DraftKings, and a useful pivot from Luzardo in GPPs at FanDuel.

Reid Detmers (SP – LAA) vs. Houston Astros

Reid Detmers is grossly overpriced at FanDuel, where he’s a non-option. He’s a nifty SP2 option in GPPs at DraftKings, as saving salary is paramount for jamming stud hitters from a launching pad into DFS squads. Detmers is catching the Astros at the right time. Houston is 21st in wRC+ (90) with a 23.3 K% in the previous 30 days.

Since Detmers is strictly a ceiling-chasing, cap-friendly pick, it’s worth dreaming on his underlying data. In his previous five starts spanning 30.1 innings, his 4.15 ERA isn’t anything to write home about, but a 56.0 LOB% has hurt him, as evidenced by his 2.91 xERA, 3.11 xFIP, and 2.84 SIERA. Detmers also had a 0.99 WHIP and 33.9 K% in those starts. If he can avoid baserunners more often or do a better job of stranding them, the high-strikeout hurler can reach his ceiling and be a massive asset to DFS teams.

    Suggested Lineup Stacks

The ball is flying out of the yard in Las Vegas, and no one is sleeping on the scoring environment, hence the massive total. Brandon Sproat would be a pitcher worth attacking in even a pitcher-friendly ballpark, and Las Vegas Ballpark is at the other end of the spectrum. Sproat has a 6.17 ERA, 5.46 xERA, 4.55 xFIP, and 4.46 SIERA in 12 appearances (10 starts) in 2026. The young righty has permitted a .368 wOBA to lefties and a .348 wOBA to righties, putting all hitters from the A’s on the radar as stacking selections.

The Brewers are the other beneficiaries of playing at Las Vegas Ballpark tonight. They have a plus matchup against Jack Perkins tonight. The 26-year-old righty has a putrid 6.19 ERA in 18 appearances (one start). His 3.30 xERA, 3.75 xFIP, and 2.97 SIERA indicate he’s been exceptionally unlucky, but Perkins didn’t make the most of throwing out of the bullpen for most of his appearances this year. Moreover, he had an unimpressive 4.19 ERA, 3.63 xERA, 4.65 xFIP, and 4.33 SIERA in 12 appearances (four starts) for the A’s last year. The Athletics also have a dreadful bullpen, which is a plus for Milwaukee’s offensive upside tonight.

    Core Studs

    • Nick Kurtz has smacked 15 homers with 46 runs, 49 RBIs, seven stolen bases, a .437 OBP, .249 ISO, .418 wOBA, and 166 wRC+ in 302 plate appearances this season.
    • Brice Turang had a career year last season at the plate, and he’s surged to a new level in 2026. In 282 plate appearances this year, Turang has hit 10 homers with 52 runs, 42 RBIs, 11 stolen bases, a .393 OBP, .203 ISO, .380 wOBA, and 145 wRC+.
    • Tyler Soderstrom has drilled 34 dingers with a .345 OBP, .208 ISO, .350 wOBA, and 125 wRC+ in 864 plate appearances against righties since 2024.

    Value Plays/Punts

    • Kyle Karros has hit one homer with a .364 OBP, .205 ISO, .372 wOBA, and 112 wRC+ in 44 plate appearances against lefties at home since reaching the Majors last year.
    • Carlos Cortes has hit nine homers with a .364 OBP, .197 ISO, .373 wOBA, and 137 wRC+ in 261 plate appearances against righties since last season.
    • Denzer Guzman hasn’t reached base in 10 plate appearances this year since the Angels called him up, but he’s struck out only twice. Before Guzman was called up, he crushed a dozen homers with nine stolen bases, a .403 OBP, .235 ISO, .427 wOBA, and 136 wRC+ in 268 plate appearances in Triple-A. Guzman has the minimum salary at DraftKings. So, even if he produces zero fantasy points, the cap savings he provides while offering some DFS-scoring potential is valuable.
