While the NFL and fantasy football have been popular for decades, the rise of college fantasy football on platforms such as Yahoo! Sports has attracted players. For example, the depth chart of draftable players on Yahoo! includes 68 teams. And just like with fantasy football, there are sleepers and busts every season in college football.
Below are three college fantasy football sleepers, including one running back and two quarterbacks. Both quarterbacks are dual-threats and have transferred from other programs. Let’s dive in.

College Fantasy Football Sleepers
Jeremy Payne (RB – TCU)
With Josh Hoover leaving for Indiana, the TCU Horned Frogs will turn to Jaden Craig, a grad transfer from Harvard. He played for them from 2022 to 2025 and was first-team All-Ivy League last season after completing 61.5% of his passes for 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions, and he tacked on 48 carries for three rushing touchdowns.
I lead with Craig because this is a noticeable step down in quarterback quality, so we could see more from the running game led by Jeremy Payne. The question Payne needs to answer is whether or not he can carry the load. He recorded 110 carries last season for 623 yards and five touchdowns, while also catching 22 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns across 11 games.
Payne was efficient and has pass-catching upside. Now he’s in a situation where he could see more action than ever. Payne is in a position to rack up stats so long as he proves he can be an every-down back at the college level.
Byrum Brown (QB – AUB)
One of the more intriguing quarterback transfers from a college fantasy football standpoint is Byrum Brown leaving South Florida for Auburn. Last season, Brown completed 66.3% of his passes for 3,158 yards, 28 touchdowns and interceptions, while also running 175 times for 1,008 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Sure, there will be some regression moving from the American Conference to the SEC. Still, Brown’s rushing ability is more than sufficient to make him one of the most appealing fantasy quarterbacks.
There is certainly something to be said for almost every starter on offense coming in via the transfer portal, including wide receivers Chas Nimrod, Keshaun Singleton, Christian Neptune and Jonathan Echols. Nimrod and Singleton are also transferring from South Florida, with Brown, to play under new Auburn head coach Alex Golesh (who coached them at South Florida).
Beau Pribula (QB – UVA)
After two years as a backup for Penn State under Drew Allar, Beau Pribula transferred to Missouri last season. He played in 10 games and completed 67.4% of his passes for 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions, while rushing for nearly 300 yards and six more scores.
Leaving the SEC, Pribula transferred to Virginia in the ACC. This level of competition will be the “easiest” of his college career, and he has dual-threat ability. The receiver positions will be handled by Rico Flores Jr., Da’Shawn Martin and Kameron Courtney. The latter was with UVA last season; Flores and Martin are transferring from UCLA and Kent State, respectively.
Given Pribula’s background in higher levels of competition and his dual-threat ability, the fourth-year player could have a nice fantasy season.
