8 Fantasy Football Risers & Fallers (2026)

When preparing for your fantasy football drafts, knowing which players to target and which to avoid is important. The amount of information available can be overwhelming, so a great way to condense the data and determine players to draft and others to leave for your leaguemates is to use our expert consensus fantasy football rankings compared to fantasy football average draft position (ADP). In this way, you can identify players the experts are willing to reach for at ADP and others they are not drafting until much later than average. Beyond this, it’s important to keep tabs on preseason rankings risers and fallers. We’ll help you there with this recurring article, where we’ll explore players rising or falling in the rankings as we approach NFL Week 1.

    Fantasy Football Risers & Fallers

Padded practices are here, and with them the first significant injury news of the series, the kind of event that doesn’t just move one player but reshapes a whole depth chart. Here’s what moved.

    Fantasy Football Risers

Deebo Samuel Sr. (up 43 spots to No. 163) and De’Zhaun Stribling (up 35 to No. 164). The week’s biggest movers, and they move together for one reason: Ricky Pearsall is done for the season. San Francisco ruled the third-year receiver out for 2026 after PCL surgery, and the depth chart reshuffled instantly. The Niners signed the veteran Deebo Samuel, already fluent in Kyle Shanahan’s offense, to step in alongside Mike Evans, and rookie De’Zhaun Stribling vaulted up as a late-round sleeper with a suddenly clearer path to snaps.

Malik Nabers (up 11 spots to No. 32). A genuinely important reversal, because it closes the longest-running faller story of the summer. Nabers slid for roughly six weeks, from the low 30s down into the mid-40s, entirely on health uncertainty after his ACL and meniscus surgery. This week the cloud lifted. He avoided the PUP list, returned to the practice field, and by multiple accounts “feels better than expected,” running routes and stacking (limited) practices. He’s not yet in full 11-on-11 work, and there’s no firm return date, so this isn’t all-clear, but the direction finally flipped, and the ranking followed. The player we flagged as the biggest overdraft risk in the top 50 a month ago is now climbing back toward his early-summer valuation.

Brian Thomas Jr. (up 7 to No. 72) continues a slow multi-week warming trend, and Josh Downs (up 11 to No. 97) climbs into the startable-WR range as Indianapolis’s target picture clarifies.

    Fantasy Football Fallers

James Conner (down 11 spots to No. 185): Camp reporting has been unkind: free-agent addition Tyler Allgeier reportedly opened with the starters, offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett declined to name a starter, and third-overall rookie Jeremiyah Love is the presumed back of the future. Conner may open the season as the third option in that backfield.

Isiah Pacheco (down 8 to No. 145) slides as the backup-RB tier gets re-sorted, and Jakobi Meyers (down 7 to No. 107) drifts in a crowded target picture.
