Welcome back to the latest edition of our weekly fantasy baseball Closer Report. We are just a couple days away from the trade deadline with a few moves already trickling in. We haven’t had an official closer traded, but we’ve had other bullpen moves including the Rangers trading for Chase Silseth and Twins trading for A.J. Minter.
We should figure to see some more moves trickle in this weekend heading into the official trade deadline on Monday. It is unclear what the official closer market is looking like as it seems pretty slim along teams that are selling.

Closer News & Notes
- Bryan Baker and Cade Smith are tied for the lead in baseball with 30 saves.
- Mason Miller falls right behind them with 28 saves, and it’s looking less likely he is traded by the Padres.
- Edwin Diaz was activated from the injured list on Wednesday. He recorded a save in his first game back, but did allow one run. He pitched a scoreless frame the next day. It is unclear if he’ll be back to being the full-time closer or if Tanner Scott will still mix in.
- Paul Sewald was removed from the closer role in the Diamondbacks bullpen. Brandyn Garcia has not officially been named the closer, but he has logged two saves since Sewald was removed. He is worth a speculative add right now.
- We should continue to see more relievers traded over the next few days. Chase Silseth (Rangers) and A.J. Minter (Twins) have been traded so far. Minter will likely be the first of at least two or three Mets relievers moved by Monday.
