Sleepers and Busts

Cordarrelle Patterson (RB - ATL)

Player Note on Cordarrelle Patterson (RB - ATL)
Of course, Cordarrelle Patterson rises from the fantasy dead and takes the fantasy world by storm seven years after I had him on my sleeper list. Where was that production with the Vikings his rookie year? Ugh! This is a tasty matchup vs the Jets on the other side of the pond in London. Now, that I rank him high, he'll throw up a clunker. Just watch. I've seen this movie before. Bloody hell.
Dalvin Cook (RB - MIN)

Player Note on Dalvin Cook (RB - MIN)
The Vikes should have sat Cook last week. His ankle wasn't 100% and it showed. Hopefully it doesn't linger. If he was healthy, playing the Lions would be a cupcake matchup. However, with his gimpy ankle don't be surprised if the Vikes limit his touches, especially if this one gets out of hand.
Alex Collins (RB - SEA)

Player Note on Alex Collins (RB - SEA)
Chris Carson missed another practice and is questionable tomorrow night. If Carson can't go it looks like Collins is the next man up. Keep in mind the Seahawks have a brutal matchup Thursday night vs Aaron Donald and the Rams. My advice- if you have the roster space you can take a flyer on Collins, but keep him on the bench. If Carson misses significant time, wait for a better spot to deploy Collins.
Ricky Seals-Jones (TE - WAS)

Player Note on Ricky Seals-Jones (TE - WAS)
Logan Thomas hurt his hamstring on the first drive in the Falcons game. He was put on injured reserve- out 4 weeks. Note- hamstring injuries are notorious for giving athletes setbacks. Seals-Jones will step in and could make some noise at the barren wasteland that is the TE spot for fantasy owners. He's worth a shot off waivers. Live longshot.
D'Andre Swift (RB - DET)

Player Note on D'Andre Swift (RB - DET)
The Lions offensive line is crumbling into the Great Lakes. C Frank Ragnow joins OT Taylor Decker on the injured reserve. Highly coveted rookie OT Penei Sewell is banged up as well. His status for week 5 is uncertain. You can only lose so many pieces on the dam before it breaks folks. The Lions offense, which was shaky to begin with, is about to give way, and that includes Swift.
T.J. Hockenson (TE - DET)

Cameron Brate (TE - TB)

Player Note on Cameron Brate (TE - TB)
DEVELOPING STORY.....The mildly surprising news that Gronk is doubtful to play vs New England tells me that his ribs are really hurting, He had that game circled on the calendar. Cameron Brate could be a sneaky add in deeper leagues. Remember, the only thing the Bucs care about is getting Gronk healthy for the playoffs- not our fantasy teams. Brate could have some staying power, especially with a banged up Tampa secondary, which could provide the gunpowder for plenty of shootouts. Fire the cannons!!!
Rob Gronkowski (TE - TB)

Tom Brady (QB - TB)

Player Note on Tom Brady (QB - TB)
TB12, "Ringo, what do you think my next move should be?" Ringo, "Tom, I've got one word for you....retirement. If you hang them up now, you'll be walking on soft sand in a week. You'll be thanking me. Dang, I lost my lucky coin. It was brand new." On a spotty network this is what Tom heard. "Just go win another one in New England. I'm ranking you first at QB for week 4. Maybe I'll even join you." TB12, "I'm going back home to New England, to the top of the QB rankings in week 4, and Ringo's coming with me."
Dan Arnold (TE - JAC)

Player Note on Dan Arnold (TE - JAC)
Arnold was traded to the Jaguars. The Darnold to Arnold connection is no more. What's you talkin' about Ringo? This might be a good thing, if you can afford to be patient. The Jaguars are desperate to improve the TE spot for Trevor Lawrence. The Jaguars will be trailing more than Carolina, opening up a lot of 4th Qtr garbage yards and fantasy points for Arnold. Once he learns the playbook and gets some timing with Lawrence, Arnold could surprise in a few weeks. Full disclosure- I picked him up in the Scott Fish Bowl. Worth a shot in deeper leagues.
