Starling Marte (CF - ARI)
Thu, Mar 5
Player Note on Starling Marte (CF - ARI)
Set a career high in homers last season in what was likely the best overall season of his career. The HRs may get knocked down under 20 again if the ball changes, but should be a solid contributor everywhere. Not a big fan of reaching for him at all, because his ceiling is not like others in the early rounds. Safe pick.
Ross Stripling (SP,RP - LAD)

Player Note on Ross Stripling (SP,RP - LAD)
I hope that one day Ross Stripling will be a full time starter. His role in LA is super aggravating but he is also a super talented pitcher. If he gets traded he will drastically outperform his ADP.
Jordan Lyles (SP,RP - TEX)

Player Note on Jordan Lyles (SP,RP - TEX)
Sneaky upside here heading to Texas. Like him a lot late in drafts.
Kyle Gibson (SP,RP - TEX)

Player Note on Kyle Gibson (SP,RP - TEX)
One of my guilty pleasures in the fantasy realm is drafting Kyle Gibson year after year. He is a solid SP who does a lot of things well, although the results don't always show that. If the Rangers can tap into his potential, like they did Lynn and Minor in 2019, he could be a steal at ADP.
Marcus Stroman (SP - NYM)
Thu, Feb 27
Player Note on Marcus Stroman (SP - NYM)
Marcus Stroman becomes a much more interesting fantasy option with his move to the Mets. He averaged a K per inning and changed his approach a bit after moving to the NL. As someone who never bought into Stroman, this is the first year where I am likely to take the chance.
Mike Foltynewicz (SP - ATL)
Thu, Feb 27
Player Note on Mike Foltynewicz (SP - ATL)
I am buying into the bounce back for Folty as he drastically improved after his demotion and return to full health. He is largely discounted and is well worth a pick in the mid teen rounds.
German Marquez (SP - COL)
Thu, Feb 27
Player Note on German Marquez (SP - COL)
Marquez would likely be a top 25 arm if he didn't pitch half his games in Coors. However, he is still a great 4th or 5th starter for your fantasy rotation as he has nasty stuff and will be a force on the road.
Dinelson Lamet (SP - SD)
Thu, Feb 27
Player Note on Dinelson Lamet (SP - SD)
I am a little confused about all the Dinelson Lamet love. I know he has nasty stuff, but he is now 27 years old, he had Tommy John Surgery in 2018 and he has never pitched more than 150 innings in any year of his major league career. He has also shown inconsistencies. Drafting him over a guy like Matt Boyd, for example, is crazy to me.
Matthew Boyd (SP - DET)
Wed, Feb 26
Player Note on Matthew Boyd (SP - DET)
If the ball gets dejuiced, there may be no player more positively impacted than Matt Boyd. Boyd was destroyed by the long ball in 2019, and if he can cut that rate in half or even by a quarter, we may have a solid SP2 for fantasy purposes.
Jake Odorizzi (SP - MIN)
Wed, Feb 26
Player Note on Jake Odorizzi (SP - MIN)
Odorizzi was great last season, having the best season of his career. He made tremendous gains in the strikeout category and made some changes to his pitching repertoire. I like him a lot at ADP because you simply do not have to pay much for a guy that has 200 K potential if he gets to 170+ innings.

About

I have been a fantasy football and fantasy baseball analyst for The BRoto Fantasy Podcast for almost three years now. Myself, along with my two brothers, and fellow co-hosts, Tim and Jason, saw an opportunity to create a fantasy baseball and football podcast to immerse listeners into educated and well-studied takes on players, while having some fun along the way. We have released weekly positional rankings and weekly waiver rankings for the past two years for our fantasy football listeners and have released preseason rankings to prepare our listeners for drafts as well. We have a built a strong community of listeners who have thanked us for leading them to fantasy championships with our rankings and in-depth views on players in our weekly podcasts. We are not afraid to have contrarian views and back up all of our proclamations with reason. As an example, I personally called Ronald Jones II a league loser during the NFL offseason when his ADP was in the 4th/5th round. Our loyal supporters call us their "Secret Weapon" and come to us for all their fantasy needs.
