Cleveland Indians president of baseball operations Chris Antonetti has said on multiple occasions that he expects the 26-year-old shortstop to be with the team on Opening Day. Antonetti reiterated that stance on Wednesday. "I have never had a different expectation other than Francisco will be our shortstop Opening Day," Antonetti said. "That was my expectation as the season ended. That’s still my expectation as I’m sitting here today."

Notes
Lindor is the definition of a safe player, which is great at this point in the draft. There were concerns he wouldn't run much in 2019 with his Spring Training calf injury, but he still stole 22 bases. He's an elite-contact bat, who should post double-digit steals and homers in the shortened season.
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
You'd, of course, love 81 games in Coors Field for Story, but we'll take what we can get with him. He replicated his stolen base numbers from 2018 in 2019 enough that there's no reason to doubt his speed. He's a 15/15 candidate in the shortened season.
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
Lindor's 2019 season got off to a rocky start with a right calf strain in February followed by a sprained left ankle in March. But when he returned in late April, he didn't miss a beat, putting up a classic 30-20 season and contributing in all five categories. There were some minor negatives for Lindor - his strikeout rate went up, his walk rate went down, and he had an expected batting average of just .276, the lowest of his career. But Lindor's floor at this point is so enormously high that he's one of the few no-risk players, and he shouldn't slip past the top 10 in drafts or, frankly, the top seven.
Dan Harris - FantasyPros
It's safe to say that Story's 2017 season was just an outlier, and he's established a fairly reliable 35-homer, 20-plus steal baseline. Pay no attention to Story's dramatically lower xBA - Coors Field will always inflate batting average and should keep Story's mark with roughly a .280 floor at worst. Even at a deep shortstop position, he's a unique five-category player, and is an easy first-round selection.
Dan Harris - FantasyPros
Even despite missing the first month, Lindor went for 32 homers, 22 steals and 101 runs. He has been steady for three seasons and could very easily take another leap into the top tier of fantasy assets this year but he'll need that batting average to leap in order to get there.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
There are four first-round worthy shortstops this year and among them, Story may be the top bet. He now has 35+ homers 20+ steals and a batting average above .290 in two consecutive seasons. After Bellinger is off the board, you could make a case for Story at pick #6 overall.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
Betts and Lindor should be statistical equals, so I'll take the shortstop over the outfielder.
Chris Mitchell - FantasyData
30 HRs and 20 SBs feels reasonable. The upside of 40/20 is what intrigues me. Lindor and Betts don't have that HR ceiling.
