David Wright throws again

by Chris Zolli | Wed, Feb 22nd 8:07am EST

David Wright threw for the second time since neck surgery last June. Wright has played a total of only 75 games the past two seasons, limited by spinal stenosis and surgery to correct a herniated disc in his neck. He had a .788 OPS for the Mets last season. (Newsday)

Fantasy Impact:

The Mets insist Wright is their projected Opening Day third baseman, even though his bill of health may say differently. While his time as an MVP candidate may be over, he did have seven HR in 37 games last season and posted a .350 OBP. There is no reason to pick Wright in mixed leagues and he is a spotty pick even in NL-only leagues.
