The Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to a trade that will send veteran left-handed pitcher, J.A. Happ to the Emerald City in exchange for outfielder Michael Saunders. (Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Leaving the Roger Centre for Safeco Field could prove to be beneficial for the fly ball oriented southpaw. Furthermore, Happ has struggled with the home run during his career as evidenced by an above league average 1.25 HR/9. According to the ESPN MLB Park Factor's, the Roger Centre was the 3rd best park to hit a home run in last season, while Safeco was 12th. Health also remains an issue for Happ as he's missed 218 days on the DL since 2010. If healthy, Happ will compete for a spot in the back of the Mariners rotation in 2015. Even assuming he lands said role, he's a bench/stream option only in deeper mixed leagues.
