Seth Frankoff pounded by the Cardinals on Saturday

by Jon Mathisen | Sun, May 30th 4:43am EDT

RHP Seth Frankoff took a loss on Saturday when he surrendered seven runs on seven hits with four walks and five strikeouts over five innings in the D-Backs' 7-4 loss to the Cardinals.

Fantasy Impact:

The Cardinals got things going in the top of the first inning with a Yadier Molina RBI single. Another Molina single, Tyler O'Neill double, and Justin Williams RBI groundout led to a 6-0 Cards lead after three innings. O'Neill then capped off the rout when he clubbed a solo home run in the fifth. Frankoff managed to strike out five on the day but he issued four free passes, which didn't help matters. He now owns a 9.22 ERA, 1.90 WHIP, and 11:9 K/BB ratio over 13 2/3 innings (three starts). He's slated to face the Brewers on the road in his next turn and should be avoided at all costs for fantasy purposes.
