Trevor Stephan picks up save Friday
by Matthew Adam | Guardians Correspondent | Sat, Jul 16th 2:17am EDT
Trevor Stephan threw a scoreless ninth to earn a save in a 6-5 win over the Tigers on Friday. Stephan struck out two and did not allow a baserunner.
Fantasy Impact:
Stephan got the rare save chance with Emmanuel Clase unavailable after having pitched in three of the previous four days. Stephan picked up five swinging strikes on just 13 pitches in the frame. Overall, the 26-year-old reliever has a 3-3 record, 2.80 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, two saves, and 39 strikeouts in 35 1/3 innings. He would be next in line for saves in Cleveland if something were to happen to Clase.
