James Karinchak picks up save Sunday

James Karinchak threw a scoreless ninth inning to earn a save in a 4-1 win over the Twins on Sunday. Karinchak walked two and struck out three in the frame.
Fantasy Impact:
Karinchak made things interesting by walking the leadoff batter and later issuing another free pass, but he struck out the side to prevent any damage. The veteran reliever got the save chance with regular closer Emmanuel Clase unavailable after pitching in three of the previous four days. Karinchak now has a 1-0 record, 1.57 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, two saves, and 47 strikeouts over 28 2/3 innings of work in 2022.
