The Braves have recalled right-hander James Karinchak from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Karinchak has posted a 2.08 ERA in eight appearances for the Braves this season, but his lacluster 9.1% K-BB% has created a 5.51 xFIP and a 4.97 SIERA. He has also posted a 2.45 ERA in 21 outings for Gwinnett, locking down five saves in the process.

The 30-year-old righty signed with the Braves this past December, and he has been excellent at the Triple-A level so far this year. Over 21 relief appearances for Triple-A Gwinnett, Karinchak has posted a 2.45 ERA with 38 strikeouts across 25 2/3 innings. Carlos Carrasco was designated for assignment in order to make room for Karinchak in the Braves' bullpen.
