Vierling was part of a five-player deal that saw the Phillies reign in reliever Gregory Soto from the Tigers. Vierling appeared in 117 games with the Phillies last season, hitting .246 with six homers and seven steals across 357 trips to the plate. He will compete for a depth role in the Tigers' outfield in 2023 with the ability to play all three outfield spots.
