Javier Baez went 2-for-4 with a homer, two runs, and two RBI in a 10-3 win over the Royals on Thursday.

Fantasy Impact: Baez's two-run shot in the fifth inning traveled 379 feet and had an exit velocity of 100.1 MPH. The veteran infielder is now hitting .241 with 16 homers, 62 runs, 63 RBI, and nine steals on the season. He's been swinging a hot bat of late, hitting .302 with five homers and 18 RBI over his past 30 games.

Eduardo Rodriguez threw 6 2/3 scoreless innings in a 10-3 win over the Royals on Thursday. Rodriguez earned the win while allowing five hits, striking out three, and walking four.

Fantasy Impact: Rodriguez picked up 14 swinging strikes on 102 pitches in the win. The veteran lefty has allowed just five total runs over his past three starts, spanning 19 innings. Fantasy Impact: Soto picked up his 29th save in 31 chances in 2022. The veteran notched three swinging strikes on just 10 pitches in the frame. Soto now has a 3.26 ERA and 1.31 WHIP on the year.

Fantasy Impact: Wentz turned in yet another solid outing for Detroit, even though he didn’t get the win. The rookie gave up six runs in his MLB debut back in May but hasn’t given up more than three runs in his five starts since. He is scheduled to face the Twins on Sunday for his next start.

Fantasy Impact: Alexander deserved a win in the quality start but he departed with his team down 1-0. The veteran picked up seven swinging strikes in the outing. Alexander will take a 4-10 record, 4.68 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, and 50 strikeouts into his next start, which will be Friday against the Twins.

Drew Hutchison allowed two runs on four hits over five innings in a 7-2 win over the White Sox on Saturday. He earned the win while striking out one and walking two.

Fantasy Impact: Hutchison gave up two solo homers but was able to limit the damage besides that. The veteran picked up a modest six swinging strikes on 77 pitches in the outing. Overall, Hutchison has a 3-9 record, 4.54 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and 63 strikeouts in 101 innings of work. Hutchison will take on the Twins on Friday for his next start.

Fantasy Impact: Haase helped power the Tigers to the win, hitting solo shots in the second and sixth innings. The veteran catcher is hitting .257 with 12 homers, 35 runs, and 39 RBI on the year. After hitting a career-high 22 homers last season, Haase has a 68th percentile hard-hit rate in 2022.

Fantasy Impact: Torkelson has his first homer since he was recalled from Triple-A on September 1. The heralded rookie has struggled in 2022, batting just .197 with six homers, 27 runs, and 23 RBI in 279 at-bats.

Jonathan Schoop is scheduled to transition his rehab assignment to Triple-A Toledo Tuesday. The Tigers are hopeful that Schoop will return to the Tigers lineup on September 9th. (Source: MLB.com)

Fantasy Impact: Schoop landed on the IL on August 23rd with a right ankle sprain. Prior to the injury, he was slashing .202/.235/.318 with nine home runs, 34 RBIs, and five stolen bases. Fantasy managers should expect to see the 30-year-old back this weekend.

Fantasy Impact: Pineda coughed up two homers, including a three-run shot to Bobby Witt Jr. The veteran picked up just seven swinging strikes on 80 pitches in his first start since being activated from the injured list. Pineda will take a 2-7 record, 5.79 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and 26 strikeouts over 46 2/3 innings of work. His next start will come against the Royals on Friday.

Ryan Kreidler set for MLB debut

Fantasy Impact: Kreidler has spent much of 2022 injured with a fractured finger. After a breakout 2021, many thought he could make the team out of camp. He has slashed .213/.352/.411 with eight home runs this year in Triple-A.

Harold Castro went 2-for-5 with a double and five RBI in a 9-8 win over Texas on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: Castro had a two-run single in the fourth and then added a three-run double in the following inning. The veteran infielder is in the midst of a hot streak, hitting .345 with seven RBI in his past seven games. Overall, he is batting .286 with five homers, 34 runs, and 36 RBI in 2022.

Daniel Norris allowed one run on four hits in five innings in an 8-4 loss to Cleveland on Wednesday. Norris escaped with a no-decision while striking out four and walking two.

Fantasy Impact: Norris was in line for the win before the bullpen allowed six runs in the eighth inning. The veteran lefty has been excellent in his two starts since joining the Tigers, allowing just one run over 9 2/3 innings. That being said, Norris is likely headed to the bullpen with Eduardo Rodriguez rejoining the rotation next week.

Kerry Carpenter went 2-for-3 with a homer, two walks, and two RBI in a 4-3 win over Cleveland on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact: Carpenter's first-inning blast traveled 429 feet. The rookie has now homered on consecutive days for the Tigers. Carpenter's MLB career is off to a fast start as he's hitting .333 with two homers in his first 18 at-bats.

Garrett Hill allowed one run on four hits over six innings in a 4-3 win over Cleveland on Tuesday. Hill earned the win while striking out three and walking two.

Fantasy Impact: Hill was making his second straight start against Cleveland, allowing just two runs in 11 innings over that span. Overall, the rookie has a 3-3 record, 4.22 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and 21 strikeouts in 42 2/3 innings of work. His next start is scheduled to come next Wednesday against the Giants.

Bryan Garcia allowed three runs on five hits over six innings in a 7-5 win in the second game of a doubleheader against the Guardians on Monday. Garcia picked up the win while striking out five and walking none.

Fantasy Impact: Garcia earned his first win of the season while notching eight swinging strikes against the Cleveland lineup. He did serve up two homers in the start. Garcia now has a 1-0 record, 3.29 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 11 strikeouts over 13 2/3 innings. He is likely headed to the bullpen or back to Triple-A with Eduardo Rodriguez expected to return next week.
