Reese Olson turned in a commendable performance, allowing just one earned run on six hits and one walk while striking out eight over 6.1 innings in Monday's 1-0 loss to the Rangers.

Fantasy Impact: Despite the strong outing, Olson was saddled with the loss, moving his season record to 0-2. His season ERA now sits at 3.86 with a WHIP of 1.47, and he maintains a K/9 of 7.7. Olson's ability to limit runs and rack up strikeouts in this game is a positive sign. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on his progress, as he could become a more reliable option if he manages to reduce the number of baserunners allowed.

Jack Flaherty allowed three runs on six hits across 6 1/3 innings Sunday against the Twins.

Kenta Maeda turned in a solid performance on the mound in the first game of a doubleheader against the Twins Saturday.

Fantasy Impact: Maeda allowed just one earned run on five hits while striking out five over six innings, picking up a no-decision in the 11-5 extra innings loss to the Twins. The 36-year-old continues to work to find consistency on the mound to begin the season, allowing less than three runs and recording more than three strikeouts for the first time in three starts for the Tigers. The right-hander will need to replicate his performance from Saturday in order to regain the confidence of nervous fantasy managers moving forward.
