The Boston Red Sox have signed pitcher Jake Faria to a minor-league deal. (Chris Cotillo on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Faria will get a non-roster invite to MLB spring training as well. Now 29, Faria's career got off to a strong start when he tossed 86 2/3 innings of 3.43 ERA ball with the Rays at just 23 years of age in 2017. However, he's struggled mightily since, most recently posting a 5.51 ERA in 23 appearances with the D-backs in 2021. He didn't appear at all in the big leagues in both the 2020 and 2022 seasons and will need a sharp spring to crack the Red Sox roster out of camp.
