San Diego Padres catcher Luis Campusano is expected to return to game action Wednesday as he recovers from a hamstring strain. (MLB.com)
Fantasy Impact:
The 24-year-old Campusano has been able to get work in behind the plate and take swings in the batting cage as the club believes he will be ready in time for the start of the regular season. He appeared in just 16 games with the big club in 2022, hitting .250 with one home run and a .593 OPS but hit 14 homers with a .298 average and an .846 OPS across 81 games at the Triple-A level. When healthy, Campusano should serve as the Padres' backup catcher in 2023.
