Villar was a late scratch from a March 11 contest against the Dodgers due to a hip issue and will undergo treatment moving forward. The 26-year-old appeared in 52 games for the Giants last season, hitting .231 with nine homers and a healthy .786 OPS across 181 trips to the plate. He also launched a massive 27 homers in just 84 games alongside an eye-popping 1.021 OPS in 84 appearances at the Triple-A level prior to making his MLB debut a season ago.
