Kris Bubic fans nine Giants in no decision Sunday

by Luke Monaldo | Royals Correspondent | Mon, Apr 10th 9:35am EDT

Kris Bubic pitched six innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and no walks while striking out nine in Kansas City’s 3-1 loss to San Francisco on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact:

Bubic left in line for the victory but had a great quality start squandered when Ryan Yarbrough blew his first save of the young season. Bubic was nearly untouchable on Sunday, allowing just two hits and no walks while facing 21 batters. He also struck out nine while throwing first-pitch strikes to 12 of those 21 batters and turning in arguably the best Royals start so far. Bubic remains 0-1 but his ERA and WHIP sit at 1.64 and 0.91 respectively. If your team isn’t starved for wins, he can offer help in every other category, but as always with Royals pitching, exercise caution. Bubic’s next start is slated for Saturday against the visiting Braves, so it may be best to have him prove his numbers aren't lying against a potent Atlanta lineup before taking a chance on him.
