Jose Leclerc blows save in win

by Julian Tarevski | Rangers Correspondent | Wed, Apr 12th 11:26am EDT

Jose Leclerc allowed one unearned run and gave up a base hit and two walks over one and 1/3 innings in Tuesday's 8-5 win over the Royals.

Fantasy Impact:

Leclerc came in with the tying run on first, and he nearly allowed the go-ahead run before settling in. Leclerc still is yet to give up a run, and this was not entirely his fault as Will Smith allowed the tying run to get on base. However, it seems that the Rangers are moving forward with a bit of a committee with Leclerc leading the charge as opposed to him being a traditional closer. Still, Leclerc appears to be the favorite to receive the lion's share of save opportunities unless there are lefties due up in the ninth. Leclerc deserves to be rostered in leagues where saves are scarce. On the year, he has four strikeouts over four and 1/3 innings with a 1.15 WHIP and a save.
