Matt Strahm picks up a save Sunday afternoon

by Nate Miller | Phillies Correspondent | Sun, May 7th 4:09pm EDT

Matt Strahm tossed two scoreless innings en route to a save in Sunday's 6-1 win over the Red Sox.

Fantasy Impact:

Following six starts, Strahm worked out of the Phillies' bullpen for the first time since Opening Day and just the second time this season Sunday afternoon. The lefty came on to pitch the top of the eighth with a 4-1 lead, which grew to 6-1 in the bottom of the eighth. Strahm would stay in the game to work the ninth and come away with a save. He registered three punchouts on the day, bringing his total to 40 across 28 2/3 total innings. He is expected to move forward in a relief role from here.
