Jacob deGrom fans six, issues no walks Thursday

Jacob deGrom received a no-decision Thursday against the Athletics, allowing two runs on six hits over 5.1 innings. He struck out six batters and issued no walks, inducing 12 swinging strikes. It was his second start without issuing a walk this season.

DeGrom turned in another effective performance Thursday. Through 27 innings, he holds a 3.33 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and a 26:7 K:BB ratio. He has reached the 90-pitch threshold in just one of his outings this season. His next start is scheduled for Wednesday at home against the Athletics.
