Toro is a timely addition to the Red Sox roster with Kristian Campbell (rib), Triston Casas (knee) and Masataka Yoshida (shoulder) all sidelined. Capable of playing both the infield and outfield, Toro offers valuable versatility and should see opportunities in a utility role despite not starting Saturday against the Twins. He was swinging a hot bat in Triple-A Worcester, slashing .310/.403/.480 over 119 plate appearances.
