The Oakland A's have acquired infielder Abraham Toro from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for Chad Patrick.
Toro didn't spend much time in the leagues but made his presence felt with two homers across just nine games while hitting .444 in his 21 plate appearances with the Brewers. However, he is a career .211 hitter in 271 MLB appearances but should get a solid look as the club's starting third baseman out of spring training in 2024.

With Andrew Chafin being added to the active roster and Brian Anderson coming off the IL on Thursday, the club needed to clear a pair of roster spots as Toro and pitcher Trevor Megill were the casualties. Toro is 6-for-20 with two homers with the Brewers this season and is hitting .288 with six homers, five steals, and an .829 OPS in 70 games with Nashville.

Toro went 3-for-4 with one run scored, four RBI, and a three-run home run in a loss 10-7 loss to Atlanta.
Toro's impressive showing brings his season batting average to .533 with eight hits and nine RBI in seven games played. Despite his efforts, the Brewers couldn't overcome the Braves' offensive onslaught.

Toro has appeared in just six games with the Brewers this season, homering in one of his 12 trips to the plate. With Triple-A Nashville, he has hit .288 with six homers, five stolen bases, and an .829 OPS across an even 300 trips to the plate.
