Yoshinobu Yamamoto (4-3) took the loss Thursday against the Diamondbacks, an outing where he allowed five runs over five innings. He surrendered six hits and a walk while striking out four. A grand slam by Gabriel Moreno in the fourth inning accounted for most of the damage, with Ketel Marte adding a solo home run in the fifth.
Fantasy Impact:
The five runs Yamamoto allowed Thursday were more than the four runs (one earned) he had given up in his previous five starts combined (30 innings). He has now yielded two home runs in two of his eight starts this season, with no homers allowed in the other six. Through 45 innings, Yamamoto has a 4-3 record with a 1.80 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and a 53:14 K:BB ratio. His next outing is projected against the Athletics next week.
