Dalton Rushing starting behind the plate Thursday

Fantasy Impact:
Rushing, the organization’s No. 1 prospect, is taking Austin Barnes’ spot on the active roster after Barnes was designated for assignment on Wednesday. Roberts said Rushing is expected to start twice a week behind the plate and doesn’t anticipate him playing in the outfield while with the team. This season, Rushing has slashed .308/.424/.514 across 107 at-bats with Triple-A Oklahoma. Fantasy managers shouldn’t rush to add him just yet, as he will see limited playing time, but he’s worth monitoring throughout the season.
