Andy Ibanez headed to Dodgers on major league deal
by David Leisering | Dodgers Correspondent | Sat, Jan 10th 9:21am EST
Andy Ibanez has agreed to a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Los Angeles will need to make a corresponding move to open a spot on the 40-man roster to make the move official. (Francys Romero on X)
Fantasy Impact:
Ibanez was non-tendered by Detroit in November after playing parts of three seasons with the Tigers. His best year came in 2023 when he batted .264 with 23 doubles, 11 home runs, and 41 RBI in 383 plate appearances. Ibanez is a career .254 hitter between the Rangers and Tigers and brings infield versatility to an older Dodgers' infield group. Ibanez has also played corner outfield spots in the past, so his super-utility role will allow him to get some playing time in Los Angeles.
