Jake Woodford signs minor league deal with Cubs

The Chicago Cubs signed Jake Woodford to a minor league deal on Thursday. (MLB.com)

After being released by the New York Yankees on June 1, Woodford is quickly moving on to the Cubs organization. He's slated to report to Triple-A Iowa, having most recently pitched 39.2 innings for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre with a 4.54 ERA and 1.56 WHIP.
