Luis Castillo allows two homers in loss

by Bruno Mulé | Mariners Correspondent | Thu, Jun 19th 10:50am EDT

Luis Castillo (4-5) was tagged with the loss for the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday despite pitching a quality start against the Red Sox. Over six innings, he struck out five and allowed three runs on three hits and two walks. All three runs scored on home runs, a solo shot by Marcelo Mayer in the second inning and a two-run blast by Trevor Story in the fourth.

Fantasy Impact:

It marked the third consecutive start in which Castillo has been taken deep multiple times, a notable shift after he had served up just one homer over his previous eight outings (47 innings). Through 85.1 innings this season, the right-hander has a 3.38 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and a 72:28 K:BB ratio. His next start is scheduled to be on the road early next week in Minnesota.
